Q: Will my makita charger dc1804t, that came with my makita drill, charge the battery needed for this hedge trimmer?

I think that the DC1804t charger is for NiCd batteries not the 18 volt lithium battery used on the Makita hedge trimmer - I have looked at pictures of the DC1804T charger on the internet and the battery slot is a completely different shape to that needed for the Makita 18V batteries so I believe the answer to be that the DC1804T charger is not suitable in this instance but this is my view not an 'experts' answer.

I can't answer this specific question but I can describe my own experience using a 2 year old 5Ah battery. I competely cut a 20m long x 2.5m high privet hedge and barely used a quarter of the indicated capacity of the battery. That said I am fastidious about keeping my batteries in good condition but my impression was that the cutter was not nearly as power hungry as my reciprocating saw and could have carried on cutting privet hedges all afternoon! Recommended. 👍
