Excellent holster that checks all the right boxes for an every-day carry specifically for the Shield's size and weight
Although I don't prefer single-clip style holsters for larger / full-size pistols due to the instability when moving, getting out of a car, etc; for the Shield this holster is seemingly perfect. What I like:The kydex is firm, won't easily compress from belt tension for re-holstering, no sharp edges, the mag-release IS covered, it's a snug fit right out of the plastic and the belt clip has great tension to keep it where you put it. So I can re-holster with one hand safely (ie while holding my shirt with the other hand). The holster is comfortable as far as IWB goes and doesn't chafe. I won't accidentally release a magazine in the car. When I draw, it's always the pistol that releases - not the pistol with the holster still stuck to it like some others. And the belt clip is snug enough that it takes a bit of effort to slide it along my belt, much less to unhook it from the belt. All in all, this is a very nice, all-purpose durable holster that checks all the right boxes for an every-day carry specifically for the Shield's size and weight. It stays put, and has nice weight/structure without being obnoxiously heavy or uncomfortably light - and let's face it, having a single belt clip is great for grab-and-go carry, unlike the more complicated holsters with two attachment points (such as AlienGear). IMHO, this is the kind of holster that will encourage you to carry more often. The only negative might be price-point (for some), but I can't fault CYA for charging a fair price for a product that works, and is well designed - really $40 or so is probably just right for a surprisingly high quality, place-and-go holster.

Small, light, American made...what more could you ask for?
**SEE 2 YEAR UPDATE AT THE BOTTOM**Let me just start by saying that I have been VERY pleased with this M&P Shield IWB Holster from CYA Supply Co. so far. The Shield has been on my "list" for quite a long time now and while I was looking for a decent carry holster, this product came up. After seeing all of the great reviews and seeing the price (under $40), I knew I would have to give this a shot once I got the Shield. Well, I purchased a 9mm Shield a couple weeks ago, so I put the order in for this holster this last Saturday afternoon and I already received it today (Tuesday, 3 days later). The packaging was simple and the holster came with an Allen wrench (looks to be a 3/32") to fit the retention and cant adjustments. The holster itself is very light and appears to be made of a durable plastic (see product description for exact type) that appears very durable yet flexible. I have been wearing it for the last couple of hours with zero irritation on my skin, so I am very excited to begin using it as my EDC. The clip that comes standard will fit a 1 1/2" belt, with a possible belt thickness of 1/4" (my belt is not this thick so I cannot say for certain that it will fit one this thick) I really like how CYA has incorporated the ability to adjust both the retention and cant for this holster, making this a very valuable product to those that have not found a holster to meet your carry style. For those that may not know, the retention adjustment allows you to customize the grip (retention) that the holster places on your M&P Shield as it is holstered to allow for a tighter or looser drawing of the weapon. The cant adjustment allows you to customize the angle that your M&P Shield is placed in your waistband from 0 degrees (barrel pointed straight down for a straight up draw) to 15 degrees (barrel is pointed slightly back and the grip angled forward slightly for an angled draw).Pros:-Cheap price for a great quality holster-Material is light, but also appears durable-A thin holster for a thin gun (measured at about 1 3/4" at the thickest point, including the clip)-Excellent shipping (purchased on Saturday, arrived Tuesday in Colorado)-Comes with adjustment Allen wrench needed for all adjustments-Ability to customize retention, as well as cant angle (from 0-15 degrees)-The fact that it is made in the USA by a veteran-owned company makes this product that much more awesome to meCons:-This is not really a con, but since the clip is made from plastic and not metal like I have traditionally seen, this may end up being a problem point. It is made from the same material as the rest of the holster, with metal screws, so provided that the holster itself holds up as well as I think it will, then I guess the clip will not be an issue. Just figured I'd mention it for those wondering.Overall, I am highly impressed. From what I have seen so far, I would 100% recommend this to anybody looking for a Shield holster. I will be updating my review after I have carried my M&P Shield in this holster for a while.**UPDATE** 09-Apr-18 (Purchased 25-Jun-16)I have had this holster now for nearly two years and it fits just as well as it did when I first got it. I have not had to tighten or adjust the screws at all since I first got them how I liked them, which is very important for me to not have to worry about anything coming loose while carrying. I have not noticed any wear in the material or finish, although I wear this as my EDC. I have not had any issues with skin irritation from rubbing and sweating, so all in all still very impressed! My ONE big takeaway point is to be sure that you use a quality belt, something with some thickness. I started carrying while wearing a thin (like less than 1/8" nylon webbing) belt, but this would move out of place and once or twice fully slip off. After I bought a 1-1/2" wide (1/4" thick) leather CCW belt from Relentless Tactical, I have not had any issues with this holster moving or coming off. Like a few other reviews I saw before I made the purchase stated, A GOOD GUN BELT IS A MUST, not just for this holster but for all holsters in general.I am still highly recommending this holster for the M&P Shield after 2 Years of use!

An excellent holster made in America
I needed a holster for my new M&P Shield. After quite a bit of research, I decided to get the CYA.Whereas most companies use Kydex for their holsters, CYA uses Boltaron. Boltaron is a proprietary, fire retardant, extruded thermoplastic alloy. It offers extreme durability and chemical resistance, while at the same time exhibiting exceptional physical properties. The holster arrived without issue. Included in the package with the holster is a small allen wrench used to adjust retention and cant. The fit and finish is excellent with smooth sides and all the edges smoothly rounded over. The belt clip seems to also be made from Boltaron and appears quite robust. The adjustment screws are flat-head and fit in such a fashion that they do not snag when putting on or taking off the holster. The holster fits securely with the clip positively locking over the belt. The smooth sides make it very comfortable to wear even against bare skin. I wore it while I ran errands and it did not slide around or work itself loose even when bending, squatting or getting in and out of vehicles. It is so comfortable that one can almost forget they are wearing it.There is virtually no printing even under t-shirts which makes it perfect in warmer weather. For anyone looking into a holster for their Shield 9 or 40, I highly recommend considering the CYA.A note about CYA Supply Company.CYA is owned by a United States Marine Corps veteran who believes in American made craftsmanship at a fair price. From what I have seen in this holster, his product lives up to that ideal.

Very happy with this holster
I never rate anything a 5 so keep that in mind. Overall exactly what I expected and wanted. Seems well built and fits my Shield perfectly. Tensioning screws work good and enables a tight or light grip on the gun depending your desires. I was going to go with a more expensive brand but being somewhat frugal I went with this and glad I did. I would buy again and may if I purchase another pistol. The only question is that over time I feel that the one elongated clip hole will get enlarged by the force being used to put the gun out of the holster but that's what makes it possible to adjust to different holster angles but kinda part of the beast I suppose. Probably many years down the road before that would happen anyway. I hope. :-)

TLDR: Great holster that you cannot go wrong with. I will be buying another soon for my G23!
A little background. I normally care a Glock 23 or Sig P239 in "hybrid" IWB holsters. Those holster's are very comfortable but also expensive ($90). When I decided to get a Shield I found the CYA Supply Holster. I have owned this holster since June 2017. I ordered this from Amazon the day I bought my M&P Shield online.I received my holster several days before receiving the gun. I decided I would wear it without the gun to see how it felt. I did this for a couple days and thought I would need to return it. It just didn't feel comfortable at all. However, when I finally received my Shield and put it on it felt great! I really forget that I am wearing it.My hybrid holsters are probably a little more comfortable BUT the CYA holster beats them in other areas. The adjustable retention is great. The gun snaps in and is very secure. Also, to put on or take off the hybrids I have to nearly take off my pants, put the holster on and then insert the gun. The CYA easily goes on and off with just loosening/tightening the belt. This can be done with the gun in the hoster so the trigger is always protected. It is also small enough to fit inside my quick access safe with the gun in it. Again, the trigger is covered so no chance for an AD which is great.TLDR: Great holster that you cannot go wrong with. I will be buying another soon for my G23!
