whats the difference between these & ordinary pencils?

these have soft leads which colour easily and don't make a scratching noise on paper.

Are they washable especially on cloths?

Sorry, I can't answer as I bought these for my 21 year old daughter. Probably be able to wash out with Vanish if the colour gets onto clothes but can't reallt say!

Do the dark colours have depth?

I bought these for a gift but have seen finished colouring pictures, darker colours looked fine, probably stronger colour than cheaper versions.
