Strong Handrail
My wife and I bought three of these to put up outside the front door and kitchen door to her very elderly parents house, both are in their late 80s. I installed them to the brickwork alongside each of the doors (Don't screw into the mortar as this will crumble over time).Although they are made of plastic, there are rubberised rings around the bar to aid anyone with their grip. To make it strong there is a thick aluminium tube that runs down the inside of the handrail giving it its strength. There are no fittings that come with the handrail, and I assume this is because the manufacturer has no idea where you are like to locate it, which in my view is fair enough. It comes with an instruction leaflet and recommendations on how to attach it to a wall. In our case, because they were going to be used externally and attached to brick walls I opted to use zinc plated wood screws and Rawlplugs (those are recommended in the leaflet). As you can see from the photos I used an 8mm masonry drill (as stated on the back of the Rawlplug packet) and 5x50mm (No.10x2") screws. You could use screws that will go straight into brickwork, but as I didn't have any experience using them I stuck with screws and plugs.Once each was attached to the wall, it's just a matter of putting the covers into place. I've seen that some other reviewers have had issues putting them on, but with a little gentle persuasion with a flat head screwdriver, the small clip can be eased into place and provide a nice flush finish. They're only made of plastic and the small tabs can be manipulated into place.Once completed I pulled as hard as I could to try to remove them but there was no movement from them at all, and being a big guy over 19 stone that says something. They will certainly hold up to anything my 87yo mother-in-law who weighs next to nothing, can throw at them. All in all a very good handrail and I would highly recommend getting one if you need to. Just put a little thought into how you need to attach it.

Good item - but one flaw!
This is a basic item, but seems well made and very strong once you've drilled it in place. Be aware that you need a 7mm drill bit, 4 no.10 x 50mm screws and brown Rawlplugs. The main flaw with it is that once screwed into the surface (brick, for me) and the plastic caps are popped on, you can't take them off - so make very sure that it's solid and stable before you putting the caps on, as if the screws start weakening after a while, it will be impossible to tighten them!

Indiscreet grab rail.
Excellent grab rail. Visited a hardware shop to get the appropriate size screw and rawl plug .Easy to fit. The grab rail is dark green and has non slip type rings around it and rubber type texture to it.

Solid and discrete item.
Well made. Neutral colour means that it's not obviously a disabled accessory. God grip.

Really good Grab Rail
Quite a stylish Grab Rail and it doesn't look look old fashioned. The fact that it is made of plastic and robust is a plus point and does not feel cold to the touch like metal would. The 'ribs' also make your grip feel more secure, both in your mind and in reality.
