This item makes a great gift for a mentor; my wife purchased it to give to her teaching mentor. It is very well made and heavier than you would think. The stand is nice and solid, and the item feels as though it will last a long time, even in a classroom full of active elementary school children. If you are looking for a special item for the mentor in your life, this is an excellent choice.

I bought it months ago for our owner's office, for our company aniversary, and I got to tell you, it is a perfect centerpiece for a desk.Of course, you got to mean it and then the gift gets a whole other meaning.The plank is heavy, nice lettering, and the wood holder is cut under angle, making it easy to stand out.It will not fall out on it's own, it is a perfect size and it is not overpowering your desk.
