I tried to leave a comment on one of the replicas but for some reason Amazon has still after a week has not posted my review. Probably because I very nicely corrected some folks who did not know what they were talking about.This is a very good price on this sword. Many others are selling this exact same sword for more money on Amazon. This was the best priced one I found so I bought it. It is a nice blade and modern Damascus steel. The original formula was lost and very old original Damascus steel is slightly different. We don't know how it was made we can only approximate it. I gave this the vibration test, and ping test and it sounds like all my other Damascus steel. Like how you test to see if a coin is solid silver, you can also do with steel. I have learned that test alone is very accurate.The blade came very sharp so need to sharpen it. It is also nice to feel and handle the sword as that walnut wood is smooth, clean and not chipped. It is also is a full tang, but very small compared to the rest of the sword. I don't like the leather scabbard, you can't take off the strap, and it is not very usable. The scabbard does fit the blade, so I am not saying it doesn't work, just not ideal for me.

Baldric is a little short for the tall.Blade is "waisted" very slightly similar to a MAINZ GLADIUS. It is a working tool....fully functional.Handle rides well in my extra large hands.
