It is not clingy, but then not breathable enough to be worn comfortably during southern summers. (Thankfully I only need a slip for a few dresses. Snuck this recent wear in on a random cool day lol;)

Not good for summer heat because it is a really thick material. I thought about a silky elegant underdress. This is not what I got delivered. I would describe it as a dress. If you would like a simple and nicely shaped dress - this is the one. Underdress should be light and soft to make dresses not look true. I had to send it back.
