Timely deliver good parts and good tutorials Sun Founder is a good Company.

I bought the kit because I stumbled across their YouTube channel and thought the kit had sensors I have not used and the videos were easy to understand. I am slowly working thought the videos because of defective parts.So far, The Traffic light module had the yellow LED soldered in backwards. Contacted SunFounder and they are sending a new module. I spend a day troubleshooting the push button module because it is not soldered like the diagrams. Testing with an ohm meter revealed the S and the - pins are reversed.After reading the most critical review from March 2023 I am wondering if I should continue or just return for a refund. If the more complicated modules have problems I may not be able to solve them with an ohmmeter.

If you have someone interested in electronics, don't hesitate to get this kit. First off if you were to buy all of these components separately you'll spend at least, if not a lot more, than what this kit sells for (I know, I've been doing this stuff for years). It covers everything you need to immediately get started (well, minus a computer...you will need one of those to use this kit). SunFounder provides an online tutorial that steps through each of the devices and some. They show how to setup an IoT account to start streaming your sensor data to the internet. It was way easier than you think. As long as you take each step one at a time and just go back a step if something doesn't seem right you'll be fine. With most it is just a couple wires, a copy/paste of the code and suddenly it is working.My favorite parts of this kit are the OLED screen, the 'temp, humidity and pressure' in one sensor (BMP280) and the ESP-01 which allows Wi-Fi communication and makes the IoT part possible. Lot's of other cool things, but with those three things I could easily make a sort of weather station that uploads the information to the Cloud...very cool.If you are a teacher with a programming, electronics or science class I'd recommend this to you. Actually with STEM these days, I wish something like this was available to all our high school students to help spur on their imagination and prepare them for our modern, technical world. Don't tell me about robots taking your job...when you can learn to build and program those robots (it has to start somewhere).Age wise I think really depends on the individual. I don't think this is for elementary kids. I think it is for some junior high kids. And I'm pretty sure most, if not all, high school kids could do all the projects in this kit. If your kid shows an interest in this stuff...do yourself and them a huge favor and buy this. You won't be disappointed.As a side note, SunFounder makes a ton of electronic stuff. I've bought their screen for a RPi which was also great. If you are into this stuff and you are not familiar with SunFounder, check out their website if you get a chance. You might find other things that you will want too lol.
