Catit Large Hooded Cat Litter Box, Blue and White, 50701

By far IMO THE BEST Litter box I ever bought & used... & I've had cats my entire 50+ years on this planet :-) so I've had a gazillion different litter boxes thru out my life... here's why I LOVE this PARTICULAR BRAND (Catit) & model/ style... first I made my own cat litter cabinet out of recycling & converting someone's old used unwanted credenza measuring 64" long x 18.5" Deep x 30" high 4-door credenza (see attached pics showing how I transforned this cabinet into a perfect two litter box cabinet that has enough room in the center for extra storage space for storing clean litter- perfect for hiding cat litter & but still giving cats easy access to their litter boxes) - & got this beauty for $200 from Craigslist & then puchased 2 large brown pet doors & cut the middle divider out of the center making it one large cabinet inside... but I have one cat that refuses to sit down when he pees & consequently he sprays the back of the box.. so I needed to find a litter box with a lid but with an open feeling and large opening cause other cats really don't like covered boxes - so by permanently disconnecting/ removing/ taking off the folding up door it is exactly what I was looking for & my cats are happy using the box this way... and best part is that it fits perfectly into my cat litter cabinet without ever making my cats feeling confined when they enter... THE PERFECT LITTER BOX -made really well- much better than other look-alike brands - strong , sturdy enough for my purposes - if you have a cat that sprays when he or she pees but you hate covered/hooded cat litter boxes, than this is the perfect litter box for you if you disconnect & permanently remove the fold-up door :-)UPDATE: OMG I just saw the new PRICE.... $90????? Are they kidding??? PLEASE they must be joking... I paid under $29 delivered... I sincerely hope No One actually pays $90 dollars.... this reallh is THE BEST Litter box I've ever owned, BUT please DO not pay this ridiculous new price posted of $90 because I would NEVER EVER Recommend this product for this price... so I just want potential buyers to know I rated this based on the quality (great) & the Very REASONABLE Fair price of approx $29...

I love it! The plastic is very thin, so I wouldn't recommend moving it around by the handle when it's full, maybe just slide it around or pick it up carefully by supporting the bottom too. My kitten also assumed the filter was a scratching pad but that's not really the products fault lol.When I first got it the little sliders that connect the top and bottom were stuck and wouldn't move but I looked underneath them and noticed the plastic was covering the path so I bent it back with my fingers and it slid on nice and easy :) it's a perfect litterbox for someone like me who likes cute things, and doesn't have a lot of upper body strength. I love how I don't have to remove the hood to clean the box either(i clean it every day and removing it would have been a hassle) the little easy clean lid works perfectly for me, and I don't use the one hand bag holding thing in the box but my kitten loves it because she can still scrape her paws off before getting out.The main reason I needed a covered box was my kitten loves to dig and play in the litterbox, and she sprayed the litter EVERYWHERE. This box totally fixed that! There is still room for litter to be flung out but for the most part I just sweep once a week when I clean the rest of the house which is what I originally intended to do, instead of having to sweep the floor every day and then waste the litter because I wasn't sure if it was just litter anymore.My kitten was convinced to use the box with about 1 minute of putting her in the box, letting her jump out and giving her a treat repeatedly then opening a can of wet cat food and placing it in a bowl which I put in her box so she had to jump in the box to get to the food(I also dumped her old boxes litter in there and then topped it off with fresh litter so it would be fresh, but still smell familiar). I haven't had any troubles since, and my kitten only weighs like 4 pounds, perfect for my little kitty and I hope it continues to be perfect into her adulthood, the door swings nice and easy so she never has problems getting in OR out, and in fact she still plays in there when she does her kitten spazz out thing and it's still standing strong. Great box!It was shipped wrapped in a plastic bag which was in a giant box, so if it had been handled improperly there's a good chance it may have gotten a crack, because the plastic is so thin but on the other hand, because it's so thin it can bend a lot before before it cracks. I would recommend this box to someone with a kitten who sprays litter or who takes really really stinky poops(she also did that sometimes lol).I adore this box because now it can stay in the kitchen(the kitchen is huge so it's not unsanitary) and my kitten doesn't have to have her box in the dark basement, which I was worried about her tiny legs maneuvering in the dark, or her getting spooked by the filter sounds, ect. Basically this box is amazing for me, I love it. Should something happen to the one I have now I would definitely order a new one.

A lot bigger than I thought it would be, but a good kind of big. Nice upgrade from the last one I had (other brand). My cat is average sized at about 10 pounds (fully grown) and she is able to get in and out easily and fits comfortably in it with enough room to move around and do her thing.She kicks a lot and this is high enough to keep the litter in. I cannot account for leaking because she squats when she goes, so for that it's great; no mess. Clumped litter/urine sticks a tiny bit to the bottom, but comes off easily. (Will update if it becomes a problem).It's a bit heavy with litter in it, so moving it has to be done carefully. Side clamps haven't given me any issues and seem to hold tightly. The door flap lifts up with the printed roof for very easy access to litter for scooping; VERY convenient. The door isn't completely against the sides, so there is a little room around it for ventilation. Filter is easily replaceable.Overall, I really love it and my cat has no issues with it. Spacious, practical, easy to use/clean, and cute :).
