Does this product discolor white hair?

I haven't noticed any discoloration on my dogs hair. But it is very sticky! Can only use a dab on fingertips!

I have a dog with shorter hair. Would this help keep her bows in.

It helped my little miss Daphne hold her bows in when she was a little pupper.....I would use it again if I ever had to get her fur bows to stay

Is this supposed to be so thick you can barely get it out of the container?

Betty, I wondered the same think. I believe we are just supposed to use a little of it on our fingers and rub it on the stray hairs. I recently ordered my first jar and have only used it once. My little Shih-poo puppy has hair that hasn't grown out enough to get it all up in her top knot. I so look forward to having it grow out so it isn't hanging down in her eyes.

Gel is the same consistency as olive oil. Is that the way it's supposed to be?

No its kind of sticky it holds the hair in place in order for you to fix the top not. This item is nothing like olive oil.
