I’m not an Olympic gymnast…Yet!
I got these rings for our home gym to help condition shoulders and back muscles. Sadly I don’t have the ceiling height to really take advantage of these rings they way they are designe to, but I did strap them to our pull-up bar and adjusted them to about waist height. From there, my wife and I are able to do all kinds of stretching from the ground, as well as dips (which are 10 times harder on rings than on a standard dip rack). We can also to bench style presses and row motions from a horizontal position. The range of motion and exercises you can do with these things is incredible. As far as quality goes, the straps are great quality and the buckles which secure and adjust the length are heavy-duty and inspire the confidence to hang worry-free from any height. There’s little Velcro straps to tie up the slack and grip tape for the rings. The wooden rings themselves are strong and super smooth and the perfect grip size, so we chose not to use the grip wrap at all. I’m about 180”bs and have hung my full weight on these straps and rings and they feel very stable, so I’m not worried about anything giving out other than my own strength. I can’t speak from a gymnasts perspective, but as a versatile accessory for the home gym these rings are an incredible value… Highly recommended!

Compared to my carabiner style straps…
I already have a well-loved pair of calisthenics rings with the pre-measured sectioned straps and carabiner clips, but I’ve grown tired of how slow they are to adjust and was eager for an opportunity to try these wooden gym rings with the sliding straps. I also took the opportunity to try the 1.25” ring thickness, as my previous are 1.1” inch. The strap is thinner (or perhaps less robust) and I wouldn’t imagine it would take kindly to repeated dragging across tree branches or rough surfaces. I’m even a little skeptical of how they will hold up over time living suspended from our i-beam. I say this as a 150lb 5’8” woman who uses rings 1-3x a week - I don’t feel like they are going to snap or fray unexpectedly but the straps are half the thickness of a single layer of my carabiner straps, which already have minor wear and tear from months of use.The rings are rough. My well-loved pair came with a small square of sandpaper and I wished these did too, because they really need it. They are so rough they catch like velcro on the strap, not disruptively mid-exercise, but it’s noticeable, so they need some sanding and oiling if you don’t want to use the included grip tapes. Rolling the rings back and forth inside the strap (like if you’re doing a bodyweight row -> step forward into triceps overhead extension complex) will deposit splinters of wood inside the straps.Ring thickness - I have noticed no significant difference between my old 1.1” rings and these 1.25” rings aside from the 1.25” being a little more comfortable with movements that press my weight into the rings (dips, holds). I have large hands for a woman but I would go so far as to assert that there is no significant difference in ring thickness beyond personal preference, and perhaps weight reduction and portability. To speak on the straps sliding, they do that well, and I’ve had no issues with them staying locked during exercise. I am a little nitpicky about their precision, but I turn myself around to swap rings between sets to make sure that any slight difference in adjustment is compensated for.Overall, not bad. They are certainly lighter than my carabiner style rings but the strap is way less robust so these might not last as long if you use them a lot and are constantly setting them up on different (rough) surfaces. I think these fill a niche for transportability and ease of adjustment. I’m biased towards my carabiner rings as far as beginner-friendliness would go, but the learning curve is fairly short with rings, so follow your gut if you’re interested in rings. It’s a great exercise modality and has helped rehab and strengthen my shoulders.

perfect, rough surfaces
These wooden gymnastics rings are great and work perfectly well but are a bit rough to my hands. They could probably use a bit of sanding but with my gloves it hasn't been too big of an issue so far. This seems like a great set of rings thatd be perfect for just about any home gym. The straps allow the rings to be used both indoors and outdoors. Anywhere you can hang them should work great.I am very pleased with these ring and I'm excited to see if my dips improve and if these will help stabilize my shoulders a little more. Only time will tell

Exactly as pictured.
I got these wooden rings to add to my exercise space. They were very easy to hang and are simple to adjust to whatever height you need for your intended workout. The buckles slide easily when you want them to, but don't move at all once set into place. The rings are strong enough to easily support my weight and are smooth enough to not injure my hands. I'm very new to exercising with rings, but they seem to work very well for everything I've tried so far.

Excellent ring set
These wood exercise rings are well made and comfortable to grip. The included straps are long enough to set up even in high ceiling spaces or in trees with high branches (see photo). Setup is quick, easy and stable. The included carrying bag is good for folks on the go.I ordered the 1.25 inch diameter version, which works well for my hands. The smaller version may be more appropriate if you're getting these for kids or people with very small hands. The grip is solid and non-slip. Better than I expected from wood rings. I use these strictly for doing neutral pullups, but I can see the grip will be good for folks doing gymnastics, as well.Nice ring set. I'm a fan.

nice quality rings and straps, may need additional sanding
These were easy to set up, and the straps seem to be good quality. I like that the straps have a numbered rule to help you align the rings to make them even. The wood rings do have a couple of rough spots on them that I need to sand off. One part was even splintered off. There is also a depression in one of the rings from some type of damage, but it won't affect the function. It is nice that it also comes with additional grip wraps if you need them. If you use the grip wraps, any rough parts of the ring will be covered and wouldn't be an issue at all.

Great for kids!
We have a small home gym in the garage and my youngest is really into his gymnastics. He plays on these for as long as his little arms can keep him up.The installation was really easy and I am thankful they sent everything you need to install them. They can easily be pulled down and stored if needed as well.
