Will this stapler reach to the center of a booklet made from 8.5x11 inch printer paper?

No, it can't. Our heavy duty stapler can reach to about 2.7 inch of printer paper.

How deep is the throat, and what are the interval markings on the fence slide?

The throat of the heavy duty stapler is 6.5cm, the interval marking is about how to clean the jammed staples and the other marking is about staples size and paper sheets. I use it roughly 1-2 times a week. Held up well so far. It’s heavy and durable. Make sure the staples used are appropriate for the number of papers being stapled to minimize jamming
