Don't see that it matters. Nothing passes through the device into the carboy and positive to static neutral pressure inside prevents air from entering. Zero contact means no chance of transfer.

Yes, the twin bubble airlock can be removed from the bung.

Q: what is the height of these from top to bottom?

aloha it is 7 inches.Try making "mead" it is amazingly good even with regular yeast! Add raisins
