Easy to use
Very helpful for our daughter with special needs. She pulls it out when feeling frustrated and it helps her communicate.

emotion book for young children
This book is a good resource for explaining emotions and pointing out the face that fits the moment. Sad- happy- upset- angry- frustrated.

Engaging for Discussions About Emotions
While this book is engaging, I don't find the descriptors for each emotion to be appropriate for young learners. For example, the descriptors for grumpy are "bad tempered" and "upset" which would themselves require instruction on. Children won't know what those mean.Basically, this is not a good special education tool. Maybe good for calming activities but not instruction on social emotional skills.

Not laminated
My son enjoys using this to express how he's feeling, both when he's in a good mood or a bad mood. He also grabs it and brings it to me to ask how I'm feeling.I only have a couple complaints, it is made of card stock so it's sturdy, but it is definitely NOT laminated. My son could tear the tabs off if he tried and one of them already has been crumpled. (We've only owned this for about a week.) My other complaint is that the options of "what to do" are a bit repetitive. For example, "I can write about it" appears as an option for 6 of the 18 feelings. I wish there was a greater variety of possible actions.Overall, it's a really handy idea. It helps kids identify their emotions with big emojis and gives them options for how to best proceed. It's a shame it's not laminated, you can't write on it.
