how many watt is the welder

Just received this product from Amazon (2020-01-08). Plugged it into a Kill-A-Watt device and it shows less than 80 watts, as suggested on the Amazon specs. However, the Hobie packaging clearly says 200 watts. Hence the confusion. Other sites also suggest 200 watts for the KC Pro. Maybe that is the maximum it can generate??

What is the width of the tip? I must get into a very narrow area to repair a crack.

The tip is probably 3/8 of an inch wide or so. Depending on how narrow the area you are working with depends on whether it will work for you or not. The idea is to run the plastic welding rod through the insert on top of the tip and when it melts, it drips into the area you are working meaning the tip doesn't go into the area rather than over the top of the area you are welding.

where can i get papaya plastic welding rod,s to buy 4 my hobie kayak?

Contact the factory directly, they'll send it to you free. It won't be the rod but plastic scraps which work just fine.

If the gas tank is type 2 plastic you should have no issues with fixing the problem.
