Q: With this lock, one can still turn on the faucet knob. Won't water ultimately leak out?

We have these installed at my apartment. They're great if you have people trying to steal your water; ie houseless population. Unfortunately, when water is turned on with the lock on, you get a jackhammering effect on the pipes under the structure; it's really loud and can't be good for the pipes at all. Allows you to restrict other's usage of your water, not eliminate access entirely. Our faucet still leaks around this lock.

Q: Neither key is working to get it off. i put the key in and it clicks as i'm turning it counterclockwise and then won't turn any more. any ideas?

It would be a problem if it was turning with the key in, the click you hear is the mechanism engaging to allow you to unscrew it, simply use a little more force when trying to turn and it will unscrew

Don’t break them off! The seller helped me when I ran into this problem for free. Contact the seller!

Q: Ours get the 871 on the cap are they hava the same key?

Don't know but what I do know is about a year or 2 later no matter which key you have these corrode and you cannot get them off except to take pliers and break. Spend money and get a brass one but 2-3 times as much
