AvalonA12-CTPOU bottleless Water Dispenser, Countertop, Stainless Steel

10 out of 10 I don’t know how we lived without this thing before now. Literally use the hot water to make coffee, grits ,oatmeal ,mashed potatoes. You name it. The cold water is ice cold like you don’t even need the ice it’s the perfect temp. The middle button, which is the room temperature is Actually room temperature and not cold. I have a husband with sensitive teeth. He will only drink room temperature or water. This thing is a blessing in disguise. Very well worth the money. I would recommend this to anyone that has a household that consumes a lot of water. I was purchasing eight cases of water a week from stores before we bought this.

Don’t buy this. The item is a great idea but poorly made. That’s not the worst part. The worst part is Avalon customer support. My water cooler broke after 6 months of moderate use. Stopped making the water cold. Customer support it was because I was using the wrong filters, which I wasn’t but they had “high efficiency” filters they assured would fix the problem. Nope. The COLD water coming out warm at best. They told me they would “warranty replace” but first o had to send them a photo of the unit with its cord cut. I did so, leaving me with no filtered water at all, at least when the machine was broken I had filtered water albeit warm. They said “we’ll ship it out 1-2 days after you send the cut cord photo” well, I cut that cord 3 weeks ago. They never sent it. They made a label, but never shipped out the item. The product is bad; the company is AWFUL. Don’t waste your money.

Save your money BY protecting this item. BUY THE PROTECTION PLAN!!! I purchased model # a12-ctpou.I bought this thinking it was the best to buy a “better brand” AND I got the newer model. Keep in mind i’ve only had it for two years it just hit two years last month . I called Avalon and they made me do a process where you clean the tank with citric acid crystals because the hot water stopped coming out hot and the cold water was literally freezing the tank so a big ice cube was in the tank. Therefore it would stop dispensing water until I unplugged it and the ice cube melted which took a couple days Because of the insulation it has. Once I did that I called back and of course they created a case number they asked when I had purchased the item and they saw that the warranty was only for a year worth of coverage. Keep in mind that They did say this was super rare for it to happen because I don’t know if you guys but I’ve never heard of anyone’s water dispenser freezing the water. Overall we came to the conclusion that it was the thermostat but then again it was a $300 item so therefore it was something defective but it wasn’t a common issue Therefore they need to fix that as a company. Anyway I had to call Amazon because that’s who I originally purchased fromand thankfully they reminded me that I had a protection plan but save your money and don’t buy this model or do your research some more or buy the protection plan to cover your a**. It a f***** water dispenser it shouldn’t last 2 years.

manual is inadequate, calling the toll free number for help was useless. fortunately we re-thought what we were doing and since we didn't want to return the item without one more try.......we won the battle. you're wondering what in the world I'm talking about, we had a direct water line already in existence, so that part of the install was easy but when we turned the water on the lines leaked going into the filters, because the hoses were plastic, we were too gentle, once we pushed all the lines in harder, no leaks. I love our machine, so much nicer then lifting those bottles like we had for many, many years.

It’s only been a month since I installed it at my commercial office space, but it has been well received. It works well and the people in the office like it. The setting I have it in is going to be a great stress test on the quality. If there isn’t an update assume it’s still working. I would suggest it especially if you need something easy to install. Everything was in the packaging and you can install it yourself rather easily. 5 stars for sure.

I received the product in good packaging and excellent condition. The instruction manual is a bit sparse on installation details but I was able to figure out the connections. I am familiar with plumbing stuff so that helped. The thin pipe supplied with the product is long enough to deal with different kinds of placements. I had to drill a couple of holes for the pipe. Installation took about an hour and a half for me because the cramped space under my sink made working difficult. The unit works as advertised and the water tasted clean. Slightly better compared to how it tastes directly off the tap. The dispenser takes bit to fill a large glass but that is perfectly fine with me. I am happy with the purchase.

I bought one a few years ago. I liked it. It broke two years after I bought it. Avalon said this was because I never did the deep clean on it. Well, what can I say? I didn't. I did the thing where you press the 'self-clean' button, but I never did the thing where you drain the entire tank and clean it with some solution or other. So, they get some stars because I have to accept responsibility for not maintaining the product the way they said to. But they lose some of those stars because it would have been nice to know that I had to do the occasional annoying, drain the whole thing and clean it deep clean BEFORE I bought it. So they are left with a star because you have to leave at least one. But they don't get any more because they made a big chunky product that could easily have been repairable, but they designed it to only be replaceable. Sheesh. I bought this so I could quit buying bottled water. Because of the environmental impact. But water bottles are one of the easiest things to recycle! This Avalon thing, on the other hand, goes off to the landfill. No recycleable parts. No ability to repair it. I'm not going back to water bottles. But this Avalon is not the way to go instead, I'm sorry to say.
