Far better than I was led to believe by some reviews.
The way some reviews talk, you'd think it flexes so much that it's unusable... It is made of plastic, and so it does flex a little, but it's essentially a non issue. I used it in my lap plenty of times; even though it's not ideal, it still worked well. It is better on a table of course, but if you're doing any serious drafting, you BETTER be using a table. Full stop. That said, I practiced a lot on it, both with and without a table, and it performed beautifully. I would have liked to pay a it less for it, but I don't regret getting it. No more messing with T-squares and triangles for my class. One of the best buys I've made. Do recommend!

Still a great product
Did not change much from the Steadtler board I used 35 years ago, and yet it is still one of the best drawing boards. The reason I am only giving it 4 stars is that they could have added digital measurements, especially since they did away with the magnetic rulers. Also the angle ruler could have had a better attachment mechanism to the parallel ruler.

Accuracy
Overall it is everything I wanted it to be with a couple things I would like to change. One being that the rulers were in inch’s and the pivoting square attachment I for me is too large to use on standard size paper that I draw on. But that being said it works really well but just not for my application. The board itself and straight edge ruler are something I wish I had no long ago.

Feel it’s too flimsy
Note that it can’t be used at an angle. And lacks any form of a weight which in my mind makes it difficult for use.

I'm impressed
I choose this board over the Chinese competitors and I'm glad I did. This thing is very smooth and very accurate. I'm a carpenter by trade and I find myself making drawings at work to convey information or to help me figure out roofing angles. I usually freehand my drawings but the scale is often wrong because it takes too long to draw accurately with just a square. It's in metric but that doesn't bother me at all, in fact I prefer it.
