Q: I'm planning a 1200 gph nft system i need to cool the water from 85f to 65f. using a 55usg drum as a resevoir. what size chiller & pump would i need?

I would purchase the one horse power model if it going to be over 100 gallons

No. I use it to cool a 125 gallon fish tank to keep it at 68 degrees and it runs about 1/2 of the time. 1500 gallons outside is way too much water.
