They absolutely do well in most situations, but the metal contacts split every so often.

Cheap with everything you need
Nice set of all the usual stuff you need for Raspberry Pi projects! You can never have enough jumper cables for prototyping! I grab for one almost every day. Plenty of colors, lengths, and optional ends. Pair this with a breadboard and you're ready to go. Let's go!

Beware of the competitors jumper wires
Edgelec wires are real copper, I got a competitor's jumper wire set and the wires were magnetic! Must have been coper plated steel. They had high resistance. It took me too long to figure this out.
