Essential for recording, reliable even after a year!
I’ve been using the Sony MDR-7506 for over a year in my recording sessions as a singer, and these headphones have been nothing short of amazing. The sound is clear, accurate, and detailed, making it easy to catch every nuance while tracking vocals. There’s no unnecessary bass boost or coloration; just a clean, honest sound, which is exactly what you want in the studio. They’re comfortable enough to wear through long recording sessions, and the closed-back design does a great job of isolating external noise and preventing sound leakage into the mic. The build quality is solid too, after a year of regular use, they still feel as good as new.If you’re a vocalist, musician, or audio professional looking for dependable headphones for recording and mixing, the Sony MDR-7506 is an excellent investment. Highly recommended!

Comfortable and good sounding closed back under 8k
I love these headphones and this has become my daily driver. I use it for casual listening, movies and monitoring.Comfort: Very comfortable headphones. This is lightweight headphones and doesn't have tight clamping force. Works fine with most head sizes. The padding is light though not uncomfortable. I can wear it for hours comfortably. I may upgrade for a thicker pads when this one wears out.Build: Very well built. The headphones feels sturdy in hand and can survive my clumsy handling. It folds well and I can carry it in my backpack easily. The coiled cables is made of quality material but undetachable and insanely long. The long cables can be wrapped over itself quickly to shorten it - check youtube videos. Spares of most parts are available online - so you don't need to throw it away when something breaks.Sound: This is fairly neutral sounding phones with somewhat flat sound signature . Really crisp mids and lows with tight bass. The bass is not overpowering or physical yet is punchy - maybe passable for bassheads. It has more bass than my AKG K371 but not as much as Brainwavz HM55. Its slight extension towards lows and highs adds some coloration but I kind of enjoy it. So instruments may stand-up than vocals a bit. You can EQ it for really flat response if you want - google for calibrated eq settings. The listening experience is on par with K371 except for the soundstage. Sound stage is not very wide but enough for proper instrument separation. My laptop and mobile can drive this pretty loud, I listen at around 50% volume.Overall this is a good no-nonsense cans well worth its ~7k price tag. This model has been around for 36 years for its good engineering and value for money.

Looks of 90's but ever-amazing audio quality
The audio quality is without any doubt amazing, pristine, emphasizing the entire frequency range. You can hear each and every beat and note clearly. Some say it is not suitable for bassheads. But i feel that it is already too bassy. I don't understand hoe much more bass do these bassheads need? The audio quality is the reason why thousands of these are still being sold. My only gripe is with the design. Sony is still sticking to the 90s design. Honestly it looks like an antique piece. Sony should keep the internals but should make cosmetic changes for better looks. The cable should have been detachable especially since it's abnormally long and heavy. It sort of limits you to use it at home or studio only. Still you can use it on the go but that will be too much of a hassle with the cable.

Full, five stars! Truly insightful headphones.
There is a reason why these headphones are revered by audio professionals all over the world, and you could use several adjectives to describe these. For sound quality, these are most balanced, insightful, and transparent headphones you can lay your hands on.The soundstage these cans present are so open, with every instrument having their intended place, and vocals tightly focussed in the center. Music never sounded better- these are monitoring headphones, and as the name goes you get an idea how the artists wanted to present their music to you. The musical instruments seem to come alive! These are highly sensitive headphones, at 106 db, you rarely have to push away up your volume knob. Some reviews have mentioned that the bass is light- let me say that the bass is tight and tuneful, just enough for you to enjoy your music. If you need more bass, crank up your EQ, or look for other headphones. These are not for 'bassholics". It's been just a few days since I've been using these cans, and I hope they will burn in and open up after so some weeks of use.For under INK 7k, I think the value these headphones present are unbeatable. There are far more other expensive headphones on the market, but I now wonder how those can beat these cans. These headphones have already raised the bar so high! And, don't expect these cans to knock you off your feet, the moment you start using them-you need them to, and they will, to grow on you. The detail they dig out in a recording opens up a whole new world to enjoy music. They take on movies pretty well too- you will clearly hear every sound in a scene, as clearly as a clock ticking against a revving car engine. My only little gripe that I have is that these cans are tad uncomfortable for my head- perhaps it's only me.If you are looking for headphones that are neutral, and present music as the clear blue skies, look no further. And with this price, no wonder this has stood its ground for nearly three decades.
