Impressive Multi Chin-Up Bar!
Just received the chin-up bar for my Covid home gym. It arrived well packed with all the needed mounting hardware. The bar is solid with a powdered black coat finish. My only complain are the directions. I mean there aren’t any directions? Fortunately, I’m handy and had the necessary tools to use. You’ll need the following to mount: ladder, stud finder, drill bits, measuring tape or 48 inch level, drill, socket wrench and adjustable wrench. The chin-up bar mounts center on 48 inches perfect for 16 inch spaced beams. Make sure you give yourself time to mount since it will take time to locate the beams, measuring the distances and drilling pilot holes. Once the prep was done, I had my college age son hold the chin-up bar up as I mounted it. Once installed, you can have a gorilla hang off it. I’ve used it a few days and love it! The multi grip positions are nice to vary your workouts. Overall, I really like the chin-up bar. The only thing I will add is some athletic tape to make it easier to grab onto.

This is the most fun and functional pull up bar I have ever owned
This is the most fun and functional pull up bar I have ever owned. I just had to make sure I mounted it to the joists, but it did fit to american code standards perfectly. When I got around to installing it, about 3 months after purchase, I ran into a snag where one of the bolts and nuts had stripped and would not tighten fully. I was apprehensive and contacted Amazon. Amazon gave me the contact info for Gronk Fitness and explaned to them what had happened. I was a bit nervous they would tell me to return the item for an exchange, after I had installed it, short of that one nut/bolt not tightening fully. They mailed me out the new nut/bolt promptly and even followed up afterwards. Great customer service. While this is a bit expensive, I love the versatility of this particular pull up bar and different hand positions it offers. Great product and great service!

Gotta know what you’re doing to install
Huge advantage of this — it’s a bit shallower (i.e. doesn’t hang quite as far down) than other chin-up devices, so if this is going in a basement with a low ceiling, this is as good as you’re going to get. Still lets you do chin ups successfully. It’s very, very solid. A bit heavy. My som really likes it, says it’s good to use in various pull-up positions.Comes with nice fat screws, but I would very very strongly suggest you get yourself a good sensor to detect beams in the ceiling (studfinder), spend the time to mark out where the beams are, and make sure that at each end of this thing at least one or two of your screws hits studs. You don’t want to attach this only to the drywall. Once you’ve marked positions for the holes using a pencil, pre-drill guide holes that are a good measure thinner than the screws, and be sure you ‘feel’ that you’re hitting a stud on at least each of the corners. I.e. if there are 8 holes, 2 on each corner, make sure 1 screw on each corner will go into a stud.It is far too heavy for one person to hold in position, AND to mark the holes with a pencil or to screw in the screws. Get someone fairly strong to hold this steady in place while you work on installing it. Also, we needed a ratcheting wrench set to install the screws (which have heads that are hex nut shape.) The hex nut wrench that came with it, is sufficient but would have required a whole lot more sweat to get it to work.

Installation was very easy. This thing is one solid piece of equipment
I received the shipment of this item promptly. Installation was very easy. This thing is one solid piece of equipment. I've read countless other pull up bar reviews and thought this was the best one for the multi grip, width, and also being very sturdy. I've now been used this countless times and have attached some rings to it as well. I've been using chalk to help keep my grip on it which does help. It can be a little rough on your hands, but it will toughen you up.

All Name, Not Worth the Price
I am currently in the process of installing the Gronk, from taking it out I am very underwhelmed. I did not read the description but since it had the name of arguably the best TE ever didn’t think I would have to. First issue out of the box is the box was completely destroyed, which could enter be a packing issue or a delivery issue. Second, this bar has no knurling. Third the lag screws/bolts feel like aluminum, but Thankfully the bar itself seems pretty sturdy. I would not say this is for someone that is serious about working out, nice novelty piece.

Good quality but no installation template.
Pro: What you see is what you get. It's sturdy and well built. Bar configuration allow for versatile workout.Con: Diameter of the bars are a little bit large. My medium size hands fatigue but it's not much of a problem. Also, it doesn't have a ceiling template so you have to do some measuring. Its difficult to get it plumb if you install the assembled unit each side at a time.

A Solid Option Over Traditional Straight Bars
This bar is well worth the money over a standard pull up bar. The angled sections provide you with a variety of grip options, some of which are more comfortable/ergonomic than traditional pull ups on a straight bar.Another review mentioned sanding down the powder coat. I did not find this necessary. The powder coating seems to provide just enough texture to help gripping with bare hands. This mounts solidly between ceiling studs 48 inches apart. Installation is simple... 4 lag bolts are included for mounting purposes, while the bar itself is held together with 4 bolts/nuts (also included).
