Q: Bought but didnt realise it was the US size 16-22. Would it be easy to use the smallest size and make smaller to fit uk 12-14?

It doesn't say 'US', it says 'U5' - ie (I presume) the upper 5 sizes. As far as I am aware they are English sizes, although I haven't actually made the dress yet. If you're comfortable with adapting the pattern I would have thought it would be fairly easy to size down from a UK 16 to a 12-14. It sounds as if you would have to adapt the pattern in any case to fit a between size.
