Good.
Good quality and value. Fast. Pre-configured as Ex-FAT so no configuring required but can be formatted to NTFS before use if you prefer.

Works well
It's a good drive, it has nice slim design and it's soft to the touch. I'm getting about 100Mbps write speeds. The LED light on this drive is very subtle so it's not disturbing at all.It certainly appears durable enough to move it around in a backpack but I'd be worried about dropping it etc. It's not rugged so got to be careful.Initially this drive was disconnecting for me whilst copying files to it. I had to format it 3 times before this issue stopped making the initial set up far more crumber some than it should have been. Also, this drive will disconnect from your pc if you move it around too much but this is an issue with every drive of this type.Power consumption is low of this kind of drives so wouldn't worry about it.I'll probably buy more of these drives.

Seagate 4 Tb external data storage device
Does the job. Backed up my laptops and data.Need a special programme to facilitate this and took the advice of a PC / Laptop professional to do this properly. All working well and seamless transfer at a great price.

Usual Seagate Reliability
The larger a hard drive is, the more risk you carry in case of failure, but I’ve been buying Seagate Hard Drives for years and have always had good experiences with them. This one is no exception and is my third drive of this type and capacity (I also have other Seagate Desktop drives which are larger, and used for land mark backups). This drive is used for continuous backup of an important PC and performs daily without issues. The price, per GB, is also reasonable. You get a selection of power connectors for the power adapter, so if you travel abroad and need to take this with you, you’ll always be able to connect it. The USB cable is also a decent length.Usual Seagate reliability and a nice-looking unit as well. Highly recommended.

Good size and speed for what my needs
Why did you choose this product over others?:Have several smaller versions but was changing to windows 11 so backed up the entire pc to this just in case, after all it is MS! This devoured the multiple drive content from the computer and averaged good transfer speeds while doing so.Plenty space left and based on other drives think I'll have peace of mind when using it for storing other data.

Failed upon first use - 7hrs of unique video clips lost! Luckily I didn't delete originals.
I plugged this HDD into my laptop the day after it was delivered, and set about transferring about 70, 10-minute video clips to said HDD, hoping to free up my laptop. My aim was then to use the HDD to edit the videos for my Youtube Channel and resave them on the HDD. It was a slow job, but seemed to work fine. I had a list of video clips showing up on the HDD. I thought I'd better check that the saved videos played properly before I deleted the originals on my laptop. I clicked on a video, and that's when my laptop froze and the HDD started beeping. I've never had an external HDD before, but a beeping noise and a freezing laptop was not a good sign. Sure enough a quick search told me that the beeping signified a fatal flaw. I had read here on Amazon, that some customers advised NOT to buy this particular product, especially as the 'customer service' is basically non-existent, but I thought they maybe had just suffered 'bad luck'. Well, I'm ANOTHER unlucky person to add to the list! Thank heavens I did not delete the original video clips or I would be absolutely livid right now! The video clips I have are unique and cannot under any circumstances be recreated. I am though, totally appalled that this product has failed during its first use. How utterly disgraceful. I just hope I get a full and immediate refund, without having to jump through hoops. I will be adding to this review if there are.
