A Favorite Flavor for My Parrots, And Delivered Fresh with NO Broken or Crumbled Pieces
Initially, I tried these Lafeber Nutri-Berries over 10 years ago. In the beginning, I bought the smaller bags because I didn’t know how well my parrots would accept something new. However, to my surprise and pleasure, each of my birds munched and finished the three or four of these round little nuggets that was in their bowl, and this included all my finicky eaters. Each time I purchased the Lafeber Nutri-Berries I tried a different flavor and out of the entire Lafeber variety of Nutri-Berries there are four different flavors that please each one of my parrots. This universal acceptance with all my pet parrots simplifies their feeding routine for me. In addition, this allows me to rotate the different flavors because sometimes they need a change of taste. Therefore switching from the different fruit to the different vegetable choices maintains their interest, and keeps them from becoming bored with these tasty and nutritious treats. Some of the Many Benefits of Nutri-berries:1. Nutri-berries are 100% eatable, there are no seed husks, and therefore there is no waste.2. Most of the seed and grains are NOT ground up, which provides better nutrition.3. There are NO artificial flavors or colors, therefore the green and red pieces are real bell peppers and NOT something artificial that may look like a vegetable.4. Nutri-berries contain the nutrition found in pellets, and since my birds refuse to eat pellets, this alternative is ideal to supplement with their cooked and fresh veggies, along with their daily ration of seed.5. Most of my parrots like to hold and eat the nutri-berries in the claws of their feet and therefore these are convenient and easy to hold round shapes.6. Ready to serve right out of the package, and therefore no other preparation is necessary.Serving Suggestions:Although the nutri-berries are ready to eat directly from the package, I use a variety of methods, just to keep things interesting.1. Sometimes I serve these nutri-berries as an evening treat in a separate food dish, from their nightly seed ration. Each parrot receives 3 nutri-berries along with a whole walnut still in the shell that I separate into 2 halves. As an alternative, I may substitute an almond instead of a walnut and then add a slice of apple, a large juicy grape, and/or a whole fresh baby carrot. This is only their evening snack and different from their fresh food morning meal. However, this keeps them quiet and content as I finish my evening round with fresh water and a quick vacuum to clean the seeds from the floor.2. In addition, I use the nutri-berries in my own ‘birdie trail mix’. I mix 1 Cup of Nutri-berries with 1 cup of organic and whole grain breakfast cereal that has NO added sweeteners, such as Shredded Wheat, Wheat Chex, Rice Chex or Cheerios. Then I’ll add 1 Cup of raw, unsalted, and unroasted variety of nuts. My last addition is 1 Cup of chopped and dried fruit, and I mix these wholesome ingredients together and give each of my parrots a ¼ cup serving. This presents a tasty and nutritious snack and filled with different, colors, tastes, and textures and which is an effective way to keep their interest.Sometimes at the end of the bag are small broken pieces and the crumbles from the berries, but I have a use for these too. These I save to pour over their morning cooked and fresh veggies, as a nutritious topping that adds an unexpected crunchy texture over their soft food.As an alternative use, my few canaries relish any crumbled pieces and I put these pieces in a small treat dish that I hang inside their cage bars. Therefore I don’t experience any waste as all, my birds love the nutri-berries no matter whether served as whole nuggets or the broken pieces and crumbles at the end of the bag.Regarding the condition of the Nutri-Berries upon my delivery, the El Paso Nutri-Berries are fresh. There are only whole nuggets in the bag, and without any crumbled or broken pieces at the bottom of the bag. These come in better shape than when I buy them right off the shelf from our local bird specialty and supply store.

MY PARROT LOVED THEM SO
Thank you for making such a great product. My African Senegal Bandito loved them so much. Especially this El Paso flavor. You are so caring and I am donating the bag I just purchased to another senior parrot.

Socrates Wants A Nutri-Berry
When our Timneh Gray Parrot got stressed out and started plucking her chest feathers, our vet recommended that we change a few things to eliminate the undesired behavior. First off, he wanted us to change her food to give her better nutrition, so he recommended several varieties of Lafever Nutri-Berries to provide some variety. Since parrots spend 90% of their time in the wild foraging for food, they need some additional activities when they are raised in a cage. I usually add in other seeds and nuts to make her work a little harder by sorting through her food bowl.He also suggested that we provide at least one daily feeding of fresh fruit and veggies to hedge our bets and give her more variety. In addition, he suggested that we rotate her toys to keep her from being bored, and he encouraged us to put in a fresh cardboard box each day so that she could shred it and use up some of her energy. The final suggestion was to mist her with clean water each day in case she felt itchy and/or dirty. I'm happy to say that the combination of these changes has prevented her from resuming her plucking. She's happier and talking more again. We're just glad that she feels better.PS: We supposedly bought a male parrot but the eggs being laid point obviously to a female. She has also switched her allegiance from me to my wife, proving once again that "birds of a feather flock together".

Healthy, consistent quality. Bird loves it.
My picky Blue Crown Conure loves Nutri-berries. Although he will eat "human food" as a supplement to these round seed-pellet-veggie balls, this bird food is his main diet. He is 12 years old (not yet middleaged) and his plumage is shiny with vibrant color. He is energetic and the vet has given him a clean bill of health at each checkup. The down side is that he normally takes 2 or 3 bites out of each ball and then tosses it to the bottom of the cage. Conures hold food in their foot and nibble, so I guess the balls fall apart after a few bites, not really his fault. But he will not each the broken up Nutri berrie that comes in each package. I have to pass those along to someone who has a bird used to eating directly out of the dish without needing to hold each ball separately. . Still I love this bird food. He also eats the other flavors, mainly the vegetable ones. It stays fresh for quite a long time, does not smell bad, and the bird loves it. I don't see us changing bird food because its good to trust one brand and keep buying it. The price on Amazon is always cheaper than at my local store. Thanks Amazon.

My Amazon's Favorite!
This food always arrives fresh and in good form. Remember to keep the bag sealed or the product will "melt" and become difficult to feed. My amazon enjoys tearing these up AND getting to eat them.
