Brought life back into my set of old knives!
I was feeling ashamed of the state of my steak knives' handles every time I would pull them out of the drawer. These are a set of Case "Miracl-Edge" (they spelled it just like this with no "e" in Miracle) model M254 and we received them as a wedding gift over 52 years ago.These have been good knives and they are still good knives, and along the way they were inadvertently thrown in the dishwasher on and off over the years and the wood on the handles started looked horrible. I went online a day ago and found this great woodworker's short video on how to restore your knife handles.I was so impressed with the outcome of his video, and just how easy it was to use this great product, that I used his link to purchase an 8-oz. bottle of "Tried & True". Sooooo glad I did! As you can see from the above photos, their before and after shots are truly amazing. I'm so happy with this product. Next, I'm going to heal up my Great-Great Grandma's wooden carved bread bowl from around the late 1800's.

Great product for certain applications such as any surface needing a food safe application. Just be patient on the curing times, especially in a colder shop environment.

A gallon goes a LONG way
I've used the dark walnut and cherry tinted versions of Tried & True with success for other projects. Here, a gallon of the untinted version was used to finish twenty-one (yes, 21) wood bookcases. I still have about a cup or two left at the bottom of the can.This stuff goes a LONG way.I don't have problems with stickiness. Apply thinly with a sponge, come back in a few minutes to wipe up any visible puddling, then come back an hour later and wipe all the surfaces down again, applying firm pressure on the rags or shop towels. I found one coat is usually sufficient for bookcase use, although I'll put on a second coat a few days later if the wood is really absorbent.
