I have 2 volt controlled fans running off of a molex ribbon. will 2 ssd's run safely off the same ribbon?

Yes, the SSD’s are not as power hungry as the old drives, the amperage is what you have to look at. Look at components and add the required power draw, then never exceed 80% of the rating of the power supply, that way you have a little wiggle room if it beguine to fail or there is a power fluctuation

What`s the length of the sata cables that the seller will give us? I am asking this because I want a short cable like 6 inches.
