Our favorite backpacking pan!
We love it! We've bought and tried most of the camping pans on the market. As a lightweight frypan for backpacking it works as great as on can expect keeping in mind its aluminum for weight savings and will not work like the common stainless steel or cast iron pans you have in your kitchen at home. However it still works great. Keep in mind if your using a canister stove like the MSR micro rocket or similar stoves they create a hotspot that will burn items if not tired often. A tip we use is do the initial cooking while stirring constantly then if your leaving it simmer try to move the food items to the edges in the shape a doughnut leaving the hole area open when the host spot is and food will burn less often. It nest absolutely perfect with this pot, down, and cup set Sea to Summit X Pot Set (5-Piece) using a friction fit thats not too tight or too loose. Its big enough for bacon, frying up a fish fillet you just caught, or makings hashbrowns as a base for mthouse type breakfast meals. The handles work well even for some one handed use and fold away easily. And if your using this MSR stove system MSR Windburner Personal Stove System, Red, 1 L and want a fry pan but don't want to buy the expensive bulky pan they make for it MSR WindBurner Skillet just to get it to work well with the stove then you can buy this pot support by JetBoill Jetboil Pot Support 0 One Size and it coincidentally fits perfect when you open the feet up so now you can use it with this sea to summit x pan. If your comparing it to other backpacking pans one things we like is the sidewalls are not too deep and has a small curve making flipping items easier than in a straight wall pan if using a spatula or something similar. Overall I highly recommend buying this pan specially if your using other Sea To Summit cooking/eating products! ...and if not check those out too! Happy backpacking :)

Lightweight; Non-stick with Sufficient OIl
I bought this pan along with the matching Sea to Summit Silicone Pot and the pot fits perfectly inside the pan to minimize bulk. The problems with the set are mostly related to the super-hot flame of a typical backpacking stove (which can produce hotspots). You'll have good results as long as you:1) use sufficient cooking oil to coat the pan (appox. 1 tbsp)2) heat the oil a bit, then roll it around to ensure complete coating inside pan3) add food (e.g., eggs, rehydrated hashbrowns, etc.) to hot oil.4) keep the flame as low as possible.

Space Saver
I have a teardrop camper and this worked so well for our limited space! Love that it stacks and saves room.

great for back packing
Nests well over my x-pot by the same brand with some wiggle room. Easy to clean but food can stick if you don't use enough oil.

Very small & extremely expensive
This is nothing but a very thin anodized aluminum camping plate turned into a frying pan by adding a folding handle. You can get a similar-sized 8" camping plate made of Titanium for less than half the price & turn it into a frying pan. Don't even think by using this you will minimize scorching & hot spots as the aluminum on this camping plate is extremely thin to handle the heat & spread it around when cooking.

Daumen hoch!
