Yes, it is a 2-in-1 attachment guide. It has both a long and short cutting length.

How do you change the battery?

Using 2 fingers, pinch the base of the white trimmer head. With your free hand, pull down on the purple casing. The pieces will separate and there will be a compartment for the battery on the backside of the inside piece. Reassemble once complete.
