High cost for short term usage even under careful washing and dying.
Minus33 t-shirts are good, and so are their products, but here is the thing, they are very easy to stretch out, especially the neck if you wear them as a base layer. I have had mine for less than a year, and after about 4-5 months of sporadic usage the necks were stretching out and looked weird. Have tried to dry them, lie them flat, etc. But nothing is taking out the wrinkles in the neck. These things are very expensive, and I would expect a much better value for my money.Mostly I use them for travel, so they get rolled up in a towel to dry and then laid flat as instructed, washed gentle in the shower and wrung out just a little. That should not be damaging the wool, but it is. I am highly disappointed.

I have been really happy with all of the Minus33 Merino Wool products I've ...
I have been really happy with all of the Minus33 Merino Wool products I've purchased and used. I use the Merino Wool t-shirts, shorts and socks as base layers especially for my motorcycle riding all year. In the summer the merino wool wicks perspiration off the body and then with properly vented riding gear you have a ready made evaporative cooling system that works great. I'm comfortable even on very warm summer rides. In the cooler weather the Merino Wool is the perfect base for layering. The best part: At the end of the day's riding, I rinse out the shirts, shorts and socks in a sink with a little Woolite, hang them up to dry and by the next morning they are dry and ready to go! This means I don't have to pack a lot of clothes on my longer rides around the country. There are some synthetic materials that advertise the same benefits, but I'll stick with the Merino Wool.Rhys Williams

I endorse this product.
No complaints. Got this shirt in yesterday. The color is a little more blue than navy, and the small fits almost like an under armour because I ordered a size down. But, seeing how I am wearing this as an undershirt for the cold, it is appropriate. If I wanted to wear just the shirt by it self, I would go with your normal size. It is a little itchy, but that is to be expected. Overall i am pleased. I did not shower yesterday, for the purpose of testing the order blocking capability and I am impressed. Would order again if priced a little lower.

Not good for backpacking.
I bought this shirt for backpacking. The shirt (XL) fit well, very soft and comfortable on the skin, wicks moisture away from skin, dries quickly. So why the one star. After getting back from my trip, I took the shirt off and there were holes in it. I was very careful that my backpack not haveany sharp objects that would cause damage but the rubbing on the pack obviously was too much for this fragile material. I searched on the Internetand see that others have had the same problem. I was hoping to get at least one year of good use from this shirt but alas it only lasted a few days.I really would like a wool shirt that is not so fragile but it light enough to backpack in warm climates.

Almost great, long sleeves
Wanted to love this shirt, but the sleeves are just way off. Not sure if the intent was to provide a longer sleeve to keep sun off the bicep or what, but it just looks goofy. One additional gripe is with the stitching, you can feel the seam more so with this product vs. competitors. Thinking of having the sleeves altered since the rest of the shirt fits so well. I'm 5'11, 170" and got the medium. I usually wear size large in most t-shirts and they end up shrinking to the right size. So, I would say if this shirt does not shrink the sizing runs large, so order a size down. The best feature of this shirt is the fact that it doesn't look like an athletic shirt. The neck rib is also a nice width (not thin) and not loose fitting around the neck.

The real deal.
Had read about these type of shirts a lot from travel bloggers so decided to test one out for myself. There are several brands that most will see when they are doing research here so no need to regurgitate that info. Didn't want to spend a ton and this wasn't the most expensive nor the least. Just got back from 10 days in Europe and wore this every other day and was extremely pleased, even more so when dealing with large temperature swings (65F on arrival and 35F on departure). Lastly, I wear a Large and this fit me just really well, a little more snug than a typical t-shirt but not so tight that I couldn't wear it by itself. I am 5'11" 190lbs and average non-athletic build.

Comfy shirt AND a warranty I’ll take two!
Great feeling T-shirt in a Tan499 option for uniformed personnel!! I’ve been wearing Under Armor shirts and underwear under my uniform for 15+ years and felt it was time for a change. UA’s quality seems to be going down and I wanted a natural, renewable fabric that would wick sweat. Merino was my answer and then some since it’s also anti odor and fire resistant. I searched and searched and even spoke to a few companies on the phone about making a Tan499 shirt. Minus33 was one of two companies that made T-shirts in a tan color. Minus33 is the only company as of this review that makes a Tan499 option. And it being a U.S. based companies in NH is icing on the cake. The feel is light and breezy, it’s not quite as soft as cotton but still really soft. It’s a different kind of softness (if you can imagine that). It’s stretchy kind of like spandex and fits snugly but not tight. (Think Under Armor loose gear if you go down a size). The price on these may seem high but since they can be worn multiple days between washing it’s comparable to the price of under armor T-shirts. I got 2 long sleeve and 2 short sleeve and that works great for me. Now if Minus33 would just make a V-neck So I could switch my everyday shirts to merino...I left one star open because I’ve got some merino that is a bit softer feeling. If this gets softer after a wash or two I’ll come back with the 5th star.

Classic t-shirt fit
I'm 6'4" and 200 lbs. The XL fits perfectly.I have at least 25 wool t-shirts (who is this guy, the King of France?).I would rate these shirts as nice as any of the other more famous brands.Thicker cloth. Not scratchy. Nicer choice of colors. Great fit, not tight but not baggy at the waist.Love the sleeve length. A little longer than the other wool tees but I like that.No idea about durability. I've only had them for two months but I have worn them very often. So far so good.

Small holes have developed after 4 weeks. Disappointing as it’s very nice to wear.
I have the jumper for 4 weeks and I have worn it about 8-10 times during that period and it has not yet been washed. I wear it as a tee shirt and not for workouts, unfortunately not something I’m able to do. I find it very comfortable to wear. As promised for Merino wool, it’s warm when it gets cool, and cool in the heat, it handles sweat very well. My only problem is that today I noticed that it has developed 5 small holes in the front (around belly button). A problem I’ve heard of. But still disappointing for such an expensive tee shirt.

Long fit, non itchy, great odour control.
T shirt is a long fit which is a good thing. It isn't itchy at all.It is warm even when drenched in sweat. It definitely doesn't smell with repeated use. To avoid wearing out the fit I tend to minimise washing merino until absolutely necessary... and it's managed several hikes and a couple of runs before its first wash.

Darn near worth the money!
I use Merino wool T-shirts as undershirts, and have purchased from a variety of suppliers over the years. This is my second batch of Minus33 "lightweight" shirts. I find them pricey, but excellent... by comparison with other brands and non-brands.The weight is better (heavier) than those 150g "ultra-light" shirts that are advertised all over. I prefer a fabric in the 180-to-200g range for durability and drape.Y'know all the characteristics of wool, especially Merino, that are touted? Like thermal-regulating, non-stink/anti-stink, etc.? Well, those are true claims, but I find them MORE true in the slightly heavier knit. The 150g shirts are just too fragile and last only a few washes before getting see-through-ish and starting to show holes and runs, especially in the arm-pits. I suspect that wool just doesn't like some of the chemicals in deodorants, especially when they care kept moist in an armpit all day.Anyway, I've had four earlier Minus33 shirts in my rotation for a couple of years, and they've outlasted other "base-layer" shirts that I bought from other wooly suppliers, and especially a couple that I bought no-name direct from China (no tags or logos) that are just too thin to absorb/wick any perspiration and started failing after 3 washes. The Minus33 shirts, especially these fresh new ones, fit fine under a golf shirt, without showing bulges or wrinkles, and feel really nice against my skin. I would compare the feel to fine brushed cotton, except that brushed cotton loses that nice "hand" after a few washings, and the Minus33 shirts retain it. As well, these shirts can be worn all day, then simply aired-out for a day or two and worn again, with no pit-stink. As an office worker, I can get several wearings before they need laundering. To be fair, if I was a laborer or construction worker, I probably wouldn't push the issue for more than one or two wearings between washes. But even so, try that with cotton or most synthetics, and you would be reeking partway through a second wearing. In summary, if you soak it with sweat, it needs washing, but if you work in an office environment and aren't the anxious type, then airing-out will work two or three times before you need to launder. That's a good thing, because lightweight wool knits are not as tough as some cottons and most synthetics, so they won't survive as many trips through the washing machine as will a poly or nylon or long-staple cotton.I sometimes wear these shirts standalone, and they look and feel fine, with a nice drape, where lighter ones would cling and look silly. But you absolutely don't want to wear just a wool t-shirt under backpack straps or when doing anything that might involve pokey branches and other possibilities of puncture or repeated abrasion - that's why I usually have them against my skin, with a "protective" golf/polo shirt over the wool T. I normally have a selection of colors to either match or complement what I'm wearing over the wool shirt. These Minus33 lightweight (I think they are 190g) t-shirts are recommended. I'm wearing my "desert sand" one right now while I review the dark green one. We'll see if Amazon lets me copy'n'paste the reviews.

keeps you warm in all conditions, comfortable and a great day to day or travel shirt
Have just started to use merino wool after decades of avoiding wool at all costs. Find Minus 33 to be a true North American size versus other brands that are smaller. What's the big deal? Very comfortable, keeps you warm and good for all conditions. If you have previous experience with basic cotton/polyester 'performance' shirts you know that they are ok but once sweaty it's time for the wash right away. For the first time, I am more than confident to use a shirt two days and more in a row regardless of how active I've been. I've just started experimenting with various brands and have found Minus 33 to be the best to date. Would definitely recommend and as to sizing, find it a true 'North American' size.
