Zippo American Flag Lighters

This is my new favorite Zippo! The deep engraving is fantastic, the antique silver finish has a refined look, and the added weight of it being an Armor Zippo makes it particularly pleasant to hold. The only nitpicky issue I have is that they don’t put beefier hinges on the Armor Zippos, it’s just the standard hinge, and since the hinge is the weakest part of a Zippo, I can see this hinge failing sooner than a classic Zippo. Fortunately Zippo fixes any issue for free, and the few Zippos, with broken hinges, I’ve sent in to be repaired have always come back even stronger than they were originally.One suggestion for Zippo owners, not for this Zippo in particular, rather a general suggestion. You do have to pay for postage to and from when sending a lighter in to be repaired so, if possible, try to wait until you have two or more Zippos to send in in order to make the postage worth your while.

Its been awhile since I carried a Zippo.Thought to myself, you only live once, why not carry a da*n Zippo again.I'm as patriotic as the next guy, and always liked flag lighters, don't know why, born that way.Saw this one, and that was that.Seems most flag lighters are right facing, this one is left facing. I thought it was unique.50 stars and 13 stripes. Seems reasonable.I guess some people don't understand that flags have too sides.Probably haven't seen military patches before either.Overall I am impressed with this lighter. Stamped '20. Quality seems fine to me.Good strong click on opening, closes with a smooth snap.Filled with 4 one second squirts of fluid, let it settle a minute, then lit.Fired first strike with a strong even flame.Wick was adjusted just right from the factory.Added a spare flint under the felt bottom, and I'm ready to rock.

If you carry anything else in your pocket, the American flag will flake off. Better to buy one that is not a sticker on the front

I love Zippos and collect them here and there, but this one is to be used. First, I have to say that the picture of this lighter isn't to accurate; in fact, it's much "brighter" than it appears in the photo. The company's description is "Silver plate", and that is exactly what it looks like; I don't know if it actually is silver-plated (I doubt it), but that is exactly what it looks like! Lighten up the Amazon image by 50% and you will have a good idea of what this lighter really looks like.Unlike most Zips, this one is one of the "Armor" lighters whose casings are 50% thicker than the standard Zippo. Don't think that sounds like much? Take a 2x4 board and make is a 3x' board ... Stronger, no? Stronger, yes. 50% stronger! You can feel the difference in the using of the lighter. You've heard the phrase "a manly man", I'm sure; well, this is "a manly lighter" (Silly, I know, but it makes the point).It's a pleasure to hold, a pleasure to look at and a pleasure to use. It took about 2 minutes for this this to become my favorite "go to" Zippo of the many I have. Most of my Zippos are unused ... this one should never be. Buy it and enjoy it.

I have many zippos but this is probably will be my favorite already it is unique and ageless 10 years from now still will be cool looking zippo! And you can feel it Is little more heavier than regulars also feel good when you light the zippo clutching your hand nicely. I will order one more for daily use. There is many complaints about the hinge but mine is good condition. Highly recommended for zippo lovers!

Absolutely beautiful lighter. Nice feel in the hand. Unfortunately the hinge was loose right out of the box. It happens, a bad one slips through. I have been buying and using Zippo's for over 40 years. Returned it for a replacement, same exact problem. The second one also had a loose hinge. This one I sent to Zippo for them to tighten the hinge and put in a pipe lighter insert. They returned it with the insert but did not fix the hinge. No explanation given. Sent the second one back to Amazon for a refund. Hopefully just a minor quality control issue, but troubling.

Today I became my brand new U.S. Flag Zippo and I must say , I love this Zippo ! It is so Awesome, so great and Wonderful ! Smokers have loved Zippo lighters since they began. I bought this one for the Stars and Stripes design. Thought the big star was just a star, but it was a bronze color when it arrived. PERFECT for me since I was awarded a Bronze Star will serving in Iraq. My only complaint is having to fill it up too often. I love using this lighter, so does my wife, and one of my adult kids. It is definitely getting a workout. When it comes to Zippo lighters, you really only need to look for the design that makes you happy...the lighter will work just fine. Be certain to buy extra flints and fluid at the same time so you don't have to wait when the time comes to fill or replace parts.

Great looking zippo, been useing these lighters for 40 years now and love them to bits, still useing one from the 70s , but the ones now dont seem to be built as sturdy as they where, ive bought 3 other zippos over the last 2 years and the hinge pin has worn out causeing the lid to drop off. The thickness of the metal is less now, but after all that i will still use them.
