The width of cart with wheels on is 48" Basket size outside dimensions are 48L x 28W x 17D and weighs 69lbs assembled. The swivel front wheel assembly is 18" from front of cart to furthest point of tire

How does it handle stairs (on boardwalk) to beach?

I haven’t had to push it up or down stairs. I’m sure it’d be fine on a boardwalk but it is very light and pushes easily on sand.

Does this cart fit in a suv?

Yes, it will fit in any size SUV.

Could I have it shipped in multiple boxes with each box under 50lbs and can be checked in on a flight? I want to take it overseas and use it there.

The basket is the largest part and heaviest. Not sure if the manufacturer could accommodate shipping it in separate boxes for weight. But the handle and cross bar for the chairs could be akward, not necessarily heavy. Call them and find out they are really nice people. I'm sure it could be done for the right price! By the way it is the best beach cart ever.
