Frida Understood!
I study Frida- like no other artist. As I looked over the content and how this book was written, I believe this book is my favorite (biography) overall for these reasons:Frida Voice: It is through her painting that we find the best voice of who she was.Good Perspective: Taschen leads us through her entire life as an artist and a person. I believe his perspective and insights to be a more observational view- presenting different thoughts than other writings. The Paintings: I will say that I was not a fan of Frida's paintings but while reading this book became more enamored with her work.Photographs and Color Images: This book holds photographs I have never seen before. The book has beautiful black and white photographs as well as beautiful full-page images of her paintings.Finally- This book also covers not only her life, but also well as chapters of her diary, biography timeline, Diego, and the Casa Azul.Overall, I am enjoying reading this book. I feel that we get a deep look into who Frida was as a person and perhaps WHY she was the way she was. There are many references to painting styles that Frida was exposed to which at times you have to flip back and forth to different pages- but I found that I would need a break in reading to look at the images.

Beautiful
The media could not be loaded. This is a beautiful book very colorful, not only for decor but it’s a great read and you could see all her paintings on there with a short descriptions of them so it is a beautiful book. Highly recommended.

Excellent quality
I have never had a book that was given such care by the publishers and I have bought many hard back books over the years. I am totally pleased and delighted with this book and its total history of Freda. It will remain a treasure.

Beautiful
While I would have loved the larger coffee table-sized book, this one still delivers clear inspiring reproductions of Kahlo's evocative work for an accessible price. I enjoyed the history of the works of art and the sense of what an authentic visionary she was. Love her bravery and artistry.

Nice book
This is a beautiful book inside and out. It’s small size makes holding and traveling with this book easy and you will look cool while carrying it or sitting reading it. Also makes a beautiful edition to a book shelf or table top collection. The text is easy to read. A factual story of her artistic life, personal life experiences and marriage to Diego Rivera. Mixed with photographs and paintings of Frida and others. In a time where young women are wearing Frida t-shirts and dressing as her for Halloween we owe it to this artist to educate the masses on who she was. This is a great book to help teach her legacy.Buy this for anyone in your life that says they like Frida Kahlo.
