Do you need to purchase swivels seperate or is the sling all you need ?

you will need to purchase swivels and sling seperate. be sure to get the right size swivels to match the width of the sling.

Will it hold 20ga shells?

No this shotgun is 12 gage it take 2 3/4 or 3inch 12 gauge shell only

Is it annoying having that many rounds on the sling?

Yes. I carry 10 rounds on the sling. If you load it up or becomes a bit heavy.

You first have to buy the adapter kit for the Maverick 88 which does not have or come with the two pieces to attach the sling to the shotgun.
