Great girl scout and backpacking sack, my new fav
I am an avid camper and active Girl Scout leader for two troops so that means many camping trips and overnights. I bought this sleeping back because although you can plan for your trip you can't really control the weather, and when doing overnights you don't ever know if the building will be hot or cold, and it is important to limit how much you carry. It is different than other sleeping bags I've used so wasn't sure if I would like it or not. I have sewn sheets in sleeping bags in the past and honestly thought repeatedly . . . how hard is it really!!?? I have to say . . . I am so glad I went forward with this, I love it! I am 5'11" and went to with the big and tall option and I am so glad I did. It is roomy, allowing me to turn in the night, and also long enough that I can sleep with the top cover at my chin if necessary. The sheet is a little thicker than I expected, more of a brushed microsuede. It is sewn in on the folded side and at the feet of the sack and open on the other side so easy to get in and out. It does have two toggle buttons with an elastic strap to hold the open side closed. I found this insufficient and was worried I would tear them off while I was asleep so will be adding more. I wish it had plastic snaps or something of that sort. Unlike other reviewers I had no issue with the zippers and found it easy to zip or unzip as necessary. On my most recent trip we were on the third floor of a science museum so as the heat rose the temperature would spike up, then the air would blast us cold as they tried to cool the building down. I found it necessary to cover/uncover repeatedly through the night and was able to do so without waking to the point where I couldn't drift back off. I like to have my feet covered so it was easy to keep the thick bottom part zipped and unzip the top half of the bottom. The top cover part was easy to flip on or off or zip closed. The bag was the perfect temperature but I am not sure that it would hold up on a truly cold outdoor trip without an additional blanket or two. When I ordered I didn't understand the roll control and honestly I still don't. It's basically one loop and toggle button in the middle which holds the middle of the bag in together. It still bagged out 1/3 and 2/3 of the way so you still had to fix it as you rolled just like any other bag. I think two buttons would work better but it's not something worth my time to add . . . how hard is it to roll a bag? I do like the quick cord ties and since it's attached it's nice not to have to worry about losing them, although you do have to roll it tight to get a good hold. All in all a good bag and well thought out for those situations when you're not really certain what you will encounter on your trip.

Great all weather bag
I first received this bag as a gift, and confess that my initial reaction to the funny zipper pattern, and the 'sheet' was less than enthusiastic (I scoffed, under my breath). However, once I actually used the bag, I was and am extremely impressed with this bag. As a year-round family camper and Boy Scouts of America adult leader that spends a lot of time camping in the Southeastern United States, this bag really does work well from the 40's to the 90's.The odd zipper pattern, in my opinion, is a great asset to the bag. In warmer weather, I can unzip the top and keep my lower body in the bag, but let the upper body remain only under the sheet (and not under the heavier bag) - and it does so easily and comfortably, as opposed to having to fold the top of the bag off to the side. This is my second bag of this exact model - I now have my original and a spare/backup. My first was the "big and tall" version, which is very roomy and comfortable, and ideal for 'car camping'. My second is the standard size, which is just a tad smaller and lighter, and great for use in my hammock, or if I have to hike my way in to camp.

Middle-aged woman sleeping bag with temperature issues...
The bag outer shell is pretty thick. I haven't slept on the ground with it yet, but It seemed pretty cushy. The zipper is really tough and appears to have a red plastic guard that will not allow it to snag at all. The inner sheet has three toggles along the side in case you do not want a sheet either. The top flap can be fastened with Velcro and is quite small where the bottom flap is much bigger and is held in place by the zipper. There is a zipper pocket for your phone. It also comes with a string to carry it. This truly is big and tall. I am short but big boned and I had plenty of room. I wonder how much I will use the unzipped flaps. The yellow sheet is quite nice, but not waterproof. The material inside and out seems really tough. I do worry the sheet will get dirty fast. Also there is an open hole at the bottom of the sheet to let your feet escape. I tend to run cold, but I will see soon if this really works on a hot night. I was kinda disappointed there wasn't a cinch at the neck. You could lose a lot of heat up by the head. The pillow flap is extra long, but wouldn't work as a pillow. You are going to need a pillow of some sort. Also I do not like how this rolls up. I am going to get some sort of cover for it for storage and carrying. The strap provided is not really adequate. Overall, I think this will do the trick for my planned weekend away. I will probably post after. Also the open flaps take up room. Maybe you can fold them under when not in use. No way to fasten them underneath. Also the interior fabric feels very plastic compared to a Kelty I used to have.

Warm, Functional, and Innovative
I bought this bag for the rare occasion that I'll be sleeping somewhere without a made up bed or for light camping. Recently I had the chance to test it outdoors and was very satisfied. The temp went down to the high 50's low 60's and with a long sleeve cotton shirt/fleece pants (no socks) this bag kept me toasty all night. The other guys in the tent that brought blankets or lighter bags were cold. I'm 6'2" and fit perfectly in the "Big and Tall" size. I like the zipper system and find the sheet very functional. I sleep mainly on my back but was able to easily roll onto my side. My only complaint is that the built in strings used to keep the bag tight are difficult to use and the lack of an included protective sack is annoying. Overall I recommend this for light use or to keep around as a spare.

Used on safari in Africa
I loved this sleeping bag. Great for a tall plus-sized woman. I never felt confined. Bottom of zipper can undone so your feet can be outside even with the bag zipped all the way. Zipper configuration takes getting used to. Bulky and heavy but warm when you need to to be. Needs a compression bag or carrying case big enough so you can travel with the bag protected.

Very happy!
Awesome sleeping bag. Climate control panel system works great, I used it on a recent camping trip where the temps ranged from 60f to 90f and didn't have any problems being too hot or cold. Fits me well, too, and I'm 6'6" and 230lbs.Only complaint is lack of compression sack... It doesn't roll down very small without one.
