Good Korean text, BUT lacks sufficient MP3 audios (only conversations, not vocabulary)
Good Korean text, BUT lacks sufficient MP3 audios (only conversations, not vocabulary)I ordered all three Korean Made Simple language books, and appreciate the many areas of the Korean language these books cover well: Hangeul, grammar instruction, key vocabulary lists in every section, wonderful usage and cultural notes, exercises with answer keys, etc.Although the author does provide free MP3 audio files for all three books in the series, lamentably these files are only for the conversation portion of these books. What would have been wonderful, and I think was necessary, was for the author to create and make downloadable free MP3 audio files for all of the vocabulary lists in his three books. This is especially true since all three of his books completely lack English romanization, which I think should have at least been supplied for "Korean Made Simple" -- the first book in this three-volume Korean language series.Still, I recommend Billy Go's Korean Made Simple books as an adjunct to another series that uses more MP3 files in teaching Korean, for example, Talk to Me in Korean's 8-volume Korean grammar textbooks,, Darakwon's "Korean Grammar in Use" three-book series, many of Tuttle's Korean grammar books, etc. Due to the paucity of free MP3 audio files, I think beginner students will struggle mastering the Korean pronunciation of the thousands of words in Korean Made Simple's three books. My recommendation is for the author to create and make available on his website new free MP3 audio files for all of the Korean vocabulary lists in his three Korean Made Simple books. This would not be hard to do. As long as he uses native Koreans with excellent standard Korean pronunciation and clear voices, they need not be professional voice actors. Also, I would recommend having both a male and a female speaker pronounce each word, or alternate with each other as they pronounce all of these words. It would be great if these free audio files would be in a zip file one could download from the author's website, so one could play these vocabulary tracks in one's computer or in the car.

I really like Billy's sense of humor that runs throughout the book
I really like Billy's sense of humor that runs throughout the book. The sample dialogues always have a "punchline" that makes the work of translating them worth it. The sample sentences are all either useful or humorous (or both really). I've copied so many into anki in order to memorize them, so I have an arsenal of useful phrases to pull out when I need them or when I need to remember a grammar point. They are not traveller phrases, but ones you can use with Korean friends or language partners in conversation. The subtle humor of the book makes it fun and it's so refreshing for a textbook to not take itself so seriously! The exercises at the end of the each chapter start easy and increase in difficulty, so just when you're feeling confident you realize you will still benefit from a second read-through.There are just a few small things I wish were a little different. First is that I wish each chapter would refer to the corresponding YouTube videos he has made. A quick reference could easily be added to his website. Second, I have the kindle version of the book and it definitely isn't as pretty as the book appears in the Amazon preview. It reads more like a text document without the formatting, insets, etc. The upside of the kindle version is in the highlighting and flashcard features. I also wish the table of contents would list the grammar points in each chapter, because it's hard when I want to look up a specific point. It might be easier to do that with the paper version. But these are small things that probably apply to many ebooks, but maybe it will help you decide what is better for you. I chose to buy the third book as an ebook too, because the benefit of reading the textbook on my computer with all my other resources is worth it to me.

extremely helpful!
this book series has been an amazing resource for someone who has been self-studying Korean. There is plenty of explanation on grammar points, practice opportunities, and lots of vocab. I would also recommend getting the workbook to go along with it!

Anyone Can Learn Korean!!
As a Korean language teacher, Author BIlly Go is Really SIncere and Devoted to teaching the Wonderful and Exotic language of Korean!!!! i Entirely Recommend the First and Second Level of This Korean Paperback to Anyone Who wants to Learn Korean!! the FIrst Level Paperback Is Ideal Even For Absolute Beginners, As It Starts to Teach the Required Korean Alphabet, Hangul!!! the Correct Stroke Order to write Each Korean letter Is DIsplayed and Explained Very Clearly, In the FIrst Volume. At this Stage, As i have Unfortunate and Natural Lifelong Learning Disabilities, i Could write about FIve words in Korean. Korean Writing and its Fonts Is High - Tech, Beautiful and Exotically Unique For me. i'm Pleasantly Surprised That In KMS Volume 2,, BIlly Go explains something that i Never knew Before: That it is Much Better to write Short(er) Korean Sentences, Which are More Compact and to the Point. In that way, You Sound More Natural to Native speakers, As You are Learning their Korean Language!!! i had believed the Opposite, Until i Checked KMS Level 2!!! Regardless of Age, Anyone Can Learn Korean: You do Not have to Be a Linguist In Order to do So, Very Fortunately!!!! i'm So Very Lucky that the Hangul Alphabet Is Simple and Not Difficult to Learn!!! By the Way, Are "Mandarin Made Simple" Paperbacks going to Be Published In the Near Future, Hopefully??? Thank You.

Excellent
These books are an excellent source.I use multiple sources, and these books along with his Youtube channel are the best I have found by a teacher that is not a native speaker.I like learning from native speakers as well, but non-native often see things from a perspective that native speakers don't have. Also they have gone through the same journey, will have encountered many of the same hurdles you will face, and have solutions for them.Whether this is your main source or not, it will definitely improve your Korean learning.

Brilliant
After finishing the first book in the series I just had to purchase this one too. The book covers a variety of vocabulary and really explains the grammar. With the addition of a story, a recipe, jokes and idioms it really displays to you how much you have learned. I highly recommend buying it.

Perfect clarity!
The instruction is incredibly clear and is complemented by a series of YouTube videos that follow the books. The author also tackles some issues that native English speakers may encounter when learning Korean. I'm not saying that he makes it easy, I'm saying that he makes it possible. Korean is nothing like English, but with this series, you stand a fighting chance of learning it.
