Works well for the money...
Don’t look at the flash it says.... can’t really miss it!The treatment area is smaller than expected and it does take a long time to cover a full leg, so put a good film on and fill your glass! The skin sensor sometimes takes a while to respond and it would have been better if there was a continuous flash switch instead of having to hold the button in, as this can cause cramp after a while. On the plus side it works very well after a couple of uses, just makes sure you do it immediately after wet shaving as this offers the best results. I have used it after electric shave but results not so good as it doesn’t get down to the hair route so easily.Facial adapter just reduces the treatment area size, I find I don’t necessarily see need this.Overall works well for the money!

Minimise hair growth
I've never used anything like this but I've always been intrigued - I epilate usually rather than shave but the idea of this light treatment minimalising the hair that grows back was very appealing. The idea is to shave first and then use the IPL as it targets the root rather than removing hair I believe. The gadget is light and comfortable to hold and angled so it's easy to reach most areasI gave the instructions a good read before I started and discovered very importantly that this is not suitable for you to use if you have a tan which surprised me but it makes sense as if your skin is already 'damaged' so to speak - then using intense light treatment could lead to burns, etc.You should use with caution if you've ever had Herpes apparently as the light can react with it (I'm guessing more for when used in the bikini area or on your face) It also shouldn't be used if you have very light blonde hair or red hair, not to be used over moles, birth marks, tattoos etc - it's best to check if this is really suitable for you.The pulses feel hot but not uncomfortably - I don't feel at risk from burning from my first use - it says to avoid going over the same area twice or that could cause soreness, burning etc.The light used is very bright and pulses - so it will give off a flash and then it has to recharge and then it'll give another flash - I actually have to wear sunglasses now when I use it as its so bright and I saw spots for hours after use (my eyes are quite sensitive to light anyway) - I'm guessing people with epilepsy or similar should really use with caution.I've been using on my legs and underarms and so far I can't say I really noticed any hair removal or patches with no growth but as its a 'treatment' I'm expecting it to improve with further uses. This also comes with a silicone egg exfoliate which is a nice touch, a tad random and not something I’ve really used a lot but it makes you feel you’re getting a fun bonus gift with this!An exciting idea to minimise hair growth and one I’m hoping to be effective, I’ll update accordingly!

IPL At An Affordable Price.
Previously IPL treatments were mostly offered from beauty salons because the technology is expensive. The idea of IPL (intense pulsed light) is to use a specially designed laser to remove hair follicles from the skin, but the treatment may not remove the follicle completely, but it is expected that the laser drastically reduces the growing rate of each hair follicle. The first thing to consider before purchase is the type of skin you have so check the skin colour chart on the website. Having dark skin and hair, the ILP treatment is a viable option for me. I use the device to remove skin from my incredibly hairy legs. Firstly, I wet shave to remove the hair, I then use the IPL device to remove the hair follicles to prevent hair growing back. Initially, I had to incrementally increase the settings step by step to ensure that my skin is ok to continue onto the increase of all 5 settings, having dark features, number 5 works fine on my skin leaving my skin with no redness. It can take a little while to cover large areas, when I start a treatment cycle every 4 to 5 months, I use the device 3 times a week for around 3 weeks concurrently. I can then enjoy 3 to 4 months of hairless legs. Whilst the device hasn’t completely eradicated my leg hair permanently, the treatment has significantly reduced the hair on my legs. Also, included in the device bundle is a vibrating skin scrubber. Not sure why this is included with the ILP device but I have used it a couple of times but I don’t think the device exfoliates my skin any better than a good face scrub.

I found out that IPL isn't for me
Oh boy oh boy my skin didn't get on with this device. At all. It's the first time I've used an IPL hair removal system, but the long and the sort of it is that my admittedly sensitive skin went nuts. I did try quite a large test patch and it just left my skin feeling very sensitive and red.Such a shame as I was hoping this would be the end of me having to shave.I give this three stars as a friend has since borrowed it and said it works well for her.

Initial results look promising - simple to use
I have never tried one of these before, slightly concerned because of my pale skin. This one indicates it is suitable for all skintones apart from very dark. It will also work on any hair colour apart from grey or red (per the guidelines on the box). I was slightly surprised by the size of he unit - it is appreciably bigger than your typical shaver. The instructions are a model of clarity and operation is very straightforward. There is an additional guard for use on facial hair. You are counseled to do a patch test first and there are warnings that the skin may become reddened. My skin came through the patch test unscathed. I was a little worried because my skin is pale and the auto-intensity level was higher than I would have expected. It is early days yet to assess whether it has worked and I suspect it will be several months before it becomes completely clear as you need to deal with new growth from untreated areas. I think the effects are more obvious currently on my chin than on my legs. However, I shall carry on using it as it is simple, quick and, so far at least, has no adverse effects. It plugs into the mains so there is no waiting around for it to re-charge.
