JET 10-Inch Bench Grinder, 1750 RPM, 1 HP, 120V 1Ph (Model JBG-10)

This Jet 10-inch grinder is a greave value for the price. The machine is heavy but has two mounting holes that you MUST use when setting this thing up. The machine requires almost no assembly other then mounting the tool guards and the plastic shields. The motor is completely sealed and does not require oil or grease. Instructions were helpful and contain good safety information for using this machine. We are using this in a mining equipment repair facility and it is holding up well. Unit replaced a 30yr old Black and Decker grinder. Very satisfied.

This is a very nice grinder but if the information that was online did not state the arbor size and if you zoom in on the picture it says 3/4 when in fact the arbor is 1", it was very hard to find a wire wheel with a one inch arbor!! I think the information should have been clear.

Looked like a nice grinder until I spun the wheel, is wobbles side to side. The shaft must be bent. The box was damaged, the supporting styrofoam was compressed and cracked as if someone dropped it. Turned it on and it had a whining noise and vibrated. I sent it back and received a replacement quickly. The new one was the some thing, wobbles, but didn't make the noise. Sent it back. I gave it two stars instead of one because it could have been a great machine. Very heavy duty. Update, upgrade from 2 to 4 stars. The 3rd one works good. Heavy duty!! I would have gave 5 stars, if I didn't have to return the two that wobbled. ** New update 11/2020 ** I love this machine. I have been using it to grind angle iron. I was using a hand held grinder but it was taking too long and my wrist was being injured. My old bench grinder would slow down, not this one. More power than most will ever need. If JET reads these posts, they should address the poor material handling, and the fact that 2 out of 3 were damaged. Why? Others have complained about the same thing. Is it the Amazon? Is it JET? Is it a 3rd party? This is damaging their reputation. The 10" grinding wheels are very heavy and may need extra support for shipping.

I read the reviews and saw that many people had issues with shipping damage. However, I wanted a large, heavy duty unit for general purpose grinding, so I rolled the dice and ordered it. Hats off to UPS - the box was a little beat up, but nothing inside was damaged. Even though the fit and finish is a little rough, this grinder is powerful, solid, and a great value for the money. I considered getting a Baldor, but it was hard to justify a lot more money for a smaller grinder. I am glad I went with the JET. In fact, I am getting ready to order the JET 8" and setting that one up for sharpening tools.

This “used” grinder was listed as used in “mint” condition. It arrived missing parts such as no tool rests, no eye guards or hardware and a broken stone. Beware when you order a used/like new product.

Very impressed with the quality of product. A lot of bench grinder for the money. It's used every day. Would replace it with another one if the need arises.

first it arrived out of the box with the plastic guards cracked. we decided to keep it that way rather than hassle with sending it back and dealing with the shipping. then 2 weeks later it just quit working all together. this is way too expensive of a piece of equipment to have to pay to repair so soon. it is very heavy and expensive to re ship back for repairs. very disappointed

Thank goodness for Amazon's excellent return policy. Everyone of these arrived damaged, broken, busted...at least until the last one I decided to keep. I think I had 5 or 6 of these delivered before it was all over. In the end, the one I received just needs to have one of the grinding wheels repositioned (it was on slightly loose and crooked). Otherwise, I attached it to the largest cast iron base that Sears Craftsman sells and this grinder is just what one needs. Grinds evenly, quiet, strong, and wish I had bought it sooner. FYI>>>> this is heavy.
