Lots of cool blues riffs.
I'm not a pro, just a guy who used to play sax in high school, and wanted to pull it back out and sharpen my chops. This book has lots of cool runs and riffs that will stretch your range and build your chops for sure. I like that it has the chords in concert "C" above the staff too. That has helped me become more adept at transposing key signatures from "Eb" to play with my church worship band. I play lead guitar with the band, but I wanted to be able to switch it up and add in some sax every now and then. This book has been a good tool in helping me learn how to do that.

Background music needs help
I'll give it 3 stars because it's good for giving you ideas and progressions. However, the majority of the music sounds like gospel music with the organ being so strong, especially at the end of the riff. Many of the riffs are shown as "mid tempo minor blues, jazzy blues, blues waltz, etc" for a variety. But in the end the background music could use some work.

100 ultimate blues riffs for (alto) saxophone Book/audio CD
the book did not arrive with the CD as listed. The CD had clearly been torn out of the packet in the book. I attempted to contact amazon about this but only received computer generated reply that was meaningless. I dont intend to try again on any other product.

this is for alto sax???
The riffs are pretty cool, but somebody ought to tell the author that the lowest note on an alto sax is B flat. A lot of the riffs go down to A.

To practice Blues
It's a good book to start to play blues and jazz with saxophone, but pieces are so small so it's difficult to play them correctly at the beginning.
