Another beautiful Penguin clothbound edition. I am half way though the book, it is a book of interesting stories and I am happy that I have decided to choose this book. Please note that the book contains only a selection of stories from 1,001 nights.

Another must read.

I have four of these clothbound editions, Marco Polo, the Illiad, Odyssey and this one and I think they are lovely. Just lovely. The criticisms about the quality of the print on the cover are warranted but I dont care, They look so pretty stood together, they really do.

Too complicated

I have not read the book yet but the quality of the book is awesome. Its a beautiful book, its a hard cloth like cover with lighter blue print over a dark blue backing. The pages are lined with gold and come with a ribbon book mark. Very happy with my purchase so far!

This is an elegant hardcover (clothbound) collector's edition of the Tales from 1001 Nights. Though an abridged edition, you could find all the necessary Tales of the Arabian Nights in it. There are several English translations of the Nights available in the market. (The most famous is Sir Richard Burton's 1885 translation; but its archaic literary style makes it heavy going for the modern reader.) What makes the Lyons' translation preferable to the others is its modern, contemporary narrative style. There is a paperback edition of the same book available in Penguin Classics, but I urge you to get this hardback edition coz a classic you're not going to throw away once you've done reading, right? These Penguin Clothbound Classics are a delight to have them in a bookshelf, that I can assure you. Happy Reading!
