Well-made, heavy duty collar for a strong dog
The description for the collar was accurate and this is a very well-made collar that would be great for a strong, medium to large dog. It looks very nice--love the purple and black combination--and I also love this very important, hard-to-find feature: it has two sturdy rings--one for ID tag in front and one for attaching the leash in the back. It has a good price for a quality canine collar.Unfortunately, my pup is a miniature spitz with a very dense, thick neck ruff and he is strong, but, alas, this collar is too stiff and heavy for his 18 lbs. So, with disappointment, I must return this collar to find one that is softer and more flexible to fit around his thick ruff and not quite so heavy for his body weight.

Best collar I’ve bought!
Great, very sturdy, and strong, yet not stiff or uncomfortable for the doggies. Looks great on my dog. I like the color choices. Maybe some people would like brown for the base color, and more holes for sizing differences? No complaints, just suggestions. Works wonderfully for us! I have a Dalmatian so the black with a pop of color looks great on him. We love it.

Decent Collar, weak leather
I purchased this for my dog as we are doing leash training and he is very strong. We were out for a walk and the back D ring snapped when he tugged a little too hard. The connection was weak. We are still using the collar. It looks nice and isn't terribly damaged, but this collar can't withstand too much if you have a strong dog who will pull against it either on a lead or leash.

Great except for cracks in the leather overtime
I have loved this collar but can only speak to its use as a holder for an ID tag, I used a harness for walks and such. After about 2 months the leather started cracking really bad and holds in dirt and grit. The collar isn't super easy to clean either. I have the tan collar so these cracks and dirt are pretty noticeable.

Stylish And Sturdy
This is a beautiful sturdy collar and is rather wide. I bought the lime green which is actually not at all like the color in the product photo which looked like neon safety green; however, the collar is quite attractive and very rugged and my Siberian Huskey loves it. There is a heavy metal ring under the neck to attach dog tags and the like and another heavy metal ring on top for attaching a lead.

The main collar is sturdy, but don't trust the D-ring.
When I purchased this collar for my corgi, I first worried that it was too thick. It turns out the collar is fine, but the way the D-ring for the leash or lead is fastened, its very untrustworthy at keeping your dog contained. We only use the lead D-ring to attach our dog to a run line to use the great outdoors as his restroom. He is on it for maybe 15 minutes each night. For walks, he wears a harness with a short strap to connect the harness to the collar as a secondary backup (it eliminates the possibility of him finding a way to slide out of his harness).Tonight, my wife hooked him up to the dog run like any other evening. Fifteen minutes later, a neighbor brought him to our front door. He had broken free of the dog run line, and was headed up the street. Our dog is only 35 lbs, there is no reason to think that he should be able to break loose. Inspecting the leather tab, which was very thin, it tore along the stitching like a perforated paper.I strongly advise against using a tab like this to attach a lead or leash to. The standard way the rings are attached on collars (like a belt loop) offers far more strength to prevent you losing your 4 legged family member.

It still looks new!
This collar is almost two years old. we have tried collars with the plastic clasp and does not work for our dog with a high prey drive, cats and squirrels are at risk of our 55 lb border collie mix breaking free. Other leather collars have cut into her skin with a rough edge. This metal traditional buckle and the rounded protected edges was the right level of security and comfort for our sweet dog. It has been almost two years and the collar still looks new. She was always right between sizes, but has gained a little weight, so i am purchasing the larger size, I expected to be tossing this one, but I will hold onto it because it has a lot of life left in it, if with summer activity she slims down, we will be covered! I paid $20 for the medium and will pay $25 for the large. Compared to similar collars in pet stores, this collar is a great value for the money and exactly what we needed.

Great for my pup
My dog has the tendency to get excited and pull on her leash. She's snapped a couple of other collars so I wanted to wait a while before writing this review. It came and was very stiff, after months of use it's softened up very nicely, and my dog seems very comfortable. Great quality. I would recommend to a friend.
