Very easy to apply using pump garden sprayer. Covered a large area and soap and water cleanup! I am optimistic that this product is a solution to preventative termite and carpenter ant issues.

Purchased the Nisus 30201 PenaShield Clear Wood preservative to prevent future carpenter ants on pressure treated deck wood joists. Only applied recently but had good reviews and seems like a quality product. I would recommend using this.

$75 was too expensive. This product has good ratings and nontoxic ingredients. $38 much better for a sprat used every few years on the Stockade Fence and Deck. Be sure to get a sprayer first though. I had a leftover bottle with hose nozzle and just repurposed.

The product as a great record for working as it should.

Easy to apply, will use again and easy to clean your tools using water. I applied it using a Chapin 20000 Garden Sprayer 1 Gallon Lawn - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000E28UQU.I'm not able to verify how effective it is to prevent wood damage, but I trust it is better than not using it at all - that is for internal wood structure, or external where you don't want any discoloring of the wood.I also got Zap-A-Roach Boric Acid - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LLQ4AU8 to put between the walls, on the base studs to further prevent termites.I would consider using a stronger product for external non visible wood structure, like Copper-Green - https://www.amazon.com/Green-Products-30001-Preservative-1-Gallon/dp/B00CDWRXYY but may contractor used it for internal studs at using that product it took about 4 weeks for the product to stop smelling, so that is why I started using PenaShield instead.In the end of the day galvanized metal studs seems to be the way to go for new construction....

I have bought this product 3 times. It seems like a good product. My issue is they seem to have different manufactors making the product one in India and one here in the US. The first two times I bought the product I recieved the one that looked as pictured here, seems to be the one made in the US. The last time I bought it the product looked different and had a very strong smell to it and a yellowish color. It was applied outside and the odor remained over 24 hours after application. This did not happen with the first two times I ordered this. If it wasn't for this I would rate it 4 stars.

This product have so many uses. There is a lot of confusion in the reviews.You have to make sure the wood or else is able to absorb this product. This product is not meant to be used on a finished or sleek surface. If applied to bare wood, you'll never have to apply this product ever again, and you'll never, ever have any termites etc eating your house structure. This is a life time product, and when I say lifetime is literally forever if applied properly. Another amazing quality of this product is deodorizing, It will literally kill old house old water damage smell in the house. Very good if you're fixing up a home, it will be like walking into a new home. No amount of remodeling will do a better job than this product for getting rid of smells.

As a dissolved mineral salt, this liquid is low or no scent, is easy to use, leaves behind no color or oil, and the residue is generally not dangerous for mammals like you or your pets. But it does kill termites and other insects and lasts indefinitely long. The exterminator we consulted recommended the borate salt spray for home use specifically because it's safe for the homeowner to apply, and because it lasts a long time (the salts absorb into porous materials like lumber). One thing to remember is that the salt solution will darken or stain wood so use with caution on wood outdoor furniture and the like.
