Amplicomms PowerTel 2880 - Big Button Phone for Elderly - Loud Phones for Hard of Hearing - Hearing Aid Compatible Phones - Big Number Telephone

I have been through many models that say they are designed for the elderly with hearing loss but have simply not been loud enough, and for some the functionality has been unreliable and the instructions and menu systems badly laid out. Finally, this one seems to actually work well, very loud and fairly easy to set up all its features, even the ring tones are OK. Recommended. We recently tried these two phones which failed to measure up to the above needs: Panasonic KX-TGE722EB Big Button for hard of hearing (this one useless!) Geemarc AmpliDect 295 Combi-Amplified (this one was louder but was VERY hard to set-up and had numerous intermittent fault issues) You will need to persevere to get a phone that covers elderly needs well enough .. good luck! If you are fortunate enough to read this review before buying duds then just buy this one Amplicomms PowerTel 2880! (I do not have any relationship with this phone company)

Purchased for elderly parents to replace an ageing base phone, and provide a 2nd cordless phone option. The volume adjustments, and function to enable use with a hearing aid were valuable additions. I’m just getting the feeling there may just be too many functions/buttons which have led to confusion, and the need for a visit today to reset the phones, and start from scratch again……

My elderly father is struggling to communicate with the family and lives on his own as he now finds mobiles and normal landline phones too complicated in his infirmity. We tried everything until we discovered this phone where the volume on hands free can be really loud and also the four buttons are just brilliant. We just printed the name of the four key people he wants to contact in different coloured squares and put them behind the four little Perspex button shields and he is now delighted he can finally contact family. A wonderful device for those who can no longer work out mobiles or land line phones. Really had benefited his well being.

Bought for a family member, easy to use but can’t find phone call erase!!, the extra loud volume is a god send, messages ray to play back and erase.

Bought this for my mum who is hard of hearing - had phone 3 months already unable to use / phone too crackly due to what we believe is a problem with the cable - definitely not as advertised for those who are deaf

Hello Amazonians. Well, it works. Now then, the booklet that comes with it is brilliant. Best guide. There are A LOT of features on this phone, and if I was someone else I would sit down and fathom them all out. But I don’t have the inclination. (Too busy being a wizard. See the dressing gown review for an explanation). It works fine, and its simple enough. I bought myself a longer coiled receiver cord which makes the phone go up a level for practicality. Its a decent quality nice and easy phone that you can get a lot of functions out of. Who you gonna call?

My old house phone became increasingly difficult to use, as the sound level for conversations was really low.I finally gave in and ordered this one, I should have done it ages ago !The sound quality is clear as a bell, even with hearing aids, and I found the system really easy to set up.During a call from someone with a quiet voice, it was easy to turn the sound up even louder, without affecting the call, just what I needed. Highly recommended.

I am a lady in my middle 80's; I find the instruction book very poor, it is not clear at all as there are some different pictures in the manual as on the phone. When I finally managed to set it up the volume on the phone works well and it is an improvement to my old phone. I am still not sure how it properly is working.
