Look great on an Audi A8 - even on the front plate !!! I'd absolutely recommend these.
I just leased an Audi A8 (black) and these powder coated license covers look fantastic as replacements for the dealer's covers. I'm actually fairly surprised these were so inexpensive, given the quality of the frame itself and the coating. I'd absolutely recommend these. They even do a good job on the front plate (which everyone wants to remove but we're frustratingly required to keep) and I'd actually say that I don't mind having the front plate on, now that I have these covers.I did learn the hard way that "four hole" covers look terrible on the A8 - these two hole covers are definitely the way to go.I tried taking a couple pics, as I think any review of this product would benefit from a visual, but there was just no way to block out the license plate number without ruining the overall effect of displaying the license cover itself. I'm gonna keep working on that, and if I can get it to look decent enough, I'll repost this review.

and completely unnecessarily, wide so that
This is well made and handsome to look at. The flaw . . . and it's a big one that's not so obvious from looking at the picture . . . is that the bottom horizontal piece is wantonly, and completely unnecessarily, wide so that, when the tag is in place the entire bottom inch or so is obscured by the holder. In our state and, I'm guessing, a lot of others, this covers the the renewal stickers that validate the license tag. I'm no at all sure that it's even legal to operate your car with this thing in place. At the very least, it's asking the police to pull over to check that you are legitimately on the road.

The frame was a perfect fit for my truck and it has a good weight to it so it feels solid however, I'm only giving it three stars because it lost its beauty after 11 months! I started noticing the matt black paint started chipping on the bottom right corner and after a few more months I have lost 60% of the paint which is making my truck looking unkept. I would ask for a refund but its too late and i wont even bother... I do not recommend you buy this frame unless you dont plan on keeping your vehicle.

Matte Flaked Off in Carwash
Looks very good and installed easily, etc.Purchased this about six months ago and put it on my back plate. Took my car to a high pressure/brushless car wash and see that a quarter-sized piece of the matte black on the plate cover flecked off, leaving the chrome to shine from underneath.Disappointing.

Good Buy - possibly the best I've seen
I bought two of these, one for the front and one for the rear, to mount custom black plates with. The quality of the metal fabrication is first rate. The perimeter has a lip that's tucked back to give it a thicker appearance than just a flat plate. The opening in the center does not have the lip, which I prefer because it allows the plate to not appear excessively recessed. The perimeter lip probably adds to the stiffness as the thickness of the steel is probably around 24 ga. Overall, a clean professionally executed design. My only complaint, which is not necessarily the fault of the frame, is the printed word 'Texas' at the top of the plate is partially obscured by the frame.

The black frames make the plate look amazing. They are the PERFECT size and look so so good. Better then the pictures. The only thing is I had to grab a can of black paint to paint the screws so it blended. But that was fast and easy!
