The product I've been waiting for! My hair grows fast and the cut I favor is pretty basic, so I have visible gray/brown roots for a month to six weeks before I Need another haircut and color. The Pure Mineral Root Concealer allows me to touch up my roots and gain that extra time between salon appointments with confidence. I like that everything is organic. I like that now I can postpone the salon color process which is definitely not organic. Best yet, application is a snap. The container has a perforated clear plastic insert so you just shake it or tap it against the counter and the just right amount comes through to swipe onto the applicator brush. Without that plastic barrier it would be way too easy to spill the powder. At first I thought the brush tip was too small, but I soon realized it was the perfect size to control the application. It helps to hold up a hand mirror so you can see the crown of your head. Brushing your hair afterward from the roots blends the color but doesn't brush it out. The color I ordered--If I remember correctly, brown was the only option for my color range--is a good match for my medium to light brown hair with highlights, but it does contain the slightest reddish tint. The color is pretty true to the picture. The reddish tinge was only apparent at the part on my scalp. It was easy to blend it in with a few longer brush strokes of the powder on either side of the part and maybe one or two in my bangs. Like adding low-lights. The color stays in place between shampoos; in my case that's every fourth day. It does not look powdery at all. It did not rub off on my fingers. This is just a guesstimate, but it looks like I'll get dozens of uses from this $15 purchase and save 25% on my yearly salon bills. All in all, except for wanting more color choices, I am totally satisfied with this purchase and will buy again.

I just switched from WOW! root cover to this because I was going through the WOW! so fast and it's very expensive. This gives you three times more and the color is warmer and better for my hair. Having used the other product for months I was really surprised by the superior coverage of this product. I don't know if it's because it's minerals or what, But to use half the amount to get better coverage (and it comes in a great case) has made me a big fan. The brush could be better so I'm using my old WOW! brush. That's the only thing I would change. Not one for writing many reviews but I really believe in this product. Will recommend it and get it again. Btw - I not only use it for root color, but I have very thin hair and it covers the scalp to make it less noticeable. Great stuff Update - I completely rely on my minerals root touch up powder. I use it every day. Recently I ordered my medium brown and the color had changed… It was without the warm Red tones that work for my hair color. I contacted Edwina at the company and she replied immediately and explained that they changed their formula because others didn't want the red in the medium brown. She said she would be happy to send me the light auburn that I can mix with the new formula to get the same color I was used to. It was sent the very same day and arrived two days later. It works perfectly and I'm so happy to have my great color coverage once again! Thank you Edwina for the incredible customer service. I read that this is a family owned business and you can certainly tell by how much they care. I will be a lifelong customer and recommend their company to all my friends. I got this today and tried just a little patch before I hopped in the shower. It seemed to work well! After just a minute or so, I rubbed my hand over the area and just a little power was on my hand but not bad. I used a mascara type of wand thing I bought at a Walgreens or CVS and I like this a lot better. I have black hair and got the dark gray powder. Someone wrote that you should get the reddish one? But glad I got the dark gray. I love the brush! Makes it very easy to apply to roots, not sure about the side of the face but on top works great.

I read a lot of the reviews about how the "regular" brown had a reddish tone so I ordered the darkest brown--hoping this wont' be the case. It definitely has some reddish tint to it. I understand that may be more appealing than a blackish tone but it really doesn't fit my hair color, which is dark brown with very very little red highlights. I do like how easy it is to use and wash off. No staining on my clothes or hands. It's a bit expensive for somethig that doesn't really get the colors right. I will look elsewhere next time.

It does cover the gray very well. I am happy with it. I needed to practice with the brush so I can apply the product evenly. You must be very careful when handling the container because the product will get on things. I only put it on after I'm dressed because I don't want to risk getting any of the colorant on my clothes.

I couldn’t control the amount, too messy for me

This product is great, I spent so much time looking for a good root powder. If you’ve ever used bare minerals foundation powder this is very similar, but for hair. Very pigmented, don’t take off the plastic sticker all of the way that covers the holes, I just peeled it back a little. Then I tap some of the powder into the cap, then use brush to apply. I like to hold my hair away from the scalp to apply, use all along my hairline. & Sometimes finish off with drugstore root spray on the length growout. Use it over the sink! I have a warm medium brown base with 30% gray, this works great. Helping so much while I embrace my natural color, again:()
