Our favorite de-caff coffee...been using this brand for a few years now.
Flavorful and smooth, rich coffee. We grind beans fresh every morning for the fresh smell of just-brewed coffee. Love that it is low-acid too.Great product, good value!

Low acid, organic, and fair trade
This is the only low acid coffee I've found that is also organic and fair trade. It tastes great and does not give me heartburn, which regular coffee does. I buy the whole bean and grind it myself, then make it in my pour-over brewer. It was not nearly as good when I used to make it in a regular automatic drip brewer. I highly recommend getting a pour-over brewer...regular drip coffee machines and keurigs can grow mold and bacteria which affect not only the taste of the coffee, but your health as well.

I'd have to give up coffee without this.
In the last 2-3 years, I've starting having problems with acid reflux... and unfortunately realized that my daily coffee habit was a major part of the problem. I've been drinking Puroast for the past year, and it has truly saved me! Don't get me wrong. I can still enjoy a cup of normal coffee out at restaurants. But if I run out of Puroast and switch back to other brands, it only takes a day or two for the acid reflux to come back with a vengeance! In fact, I recently moved and couldn't find this coffee in stores. I went several week brewing normal coffee and had to pop acid reducers nearly every day. Once I got my hands on Puroast again, the acid reflux symptoms went away in no time!As others have noted, it's not the most delicious cup of coffee but it's decent enough if you're a coffee-aholic. I drank the regular roast for quite some time, but recently switched to the French Roast in hopes that it would have a deeper flavor. It does! I normally despise French Roast coffee, but not so with the Puroast.

The IC website recommended Puroast so I decided to give it a try
I have Interstitial Cystitis (IC) and the acid in coffee is a no-no. I am a big coffee drinker and just could not give up my morning "hug" coffee! The IC website recommended Puroast so I decided to give it a try. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at just how good it was. The first few sips was different because I was used to my other brand of coffee, but once I got used to the difference I loved it. And being able to order Mocha Java which is my favorite flavor was icing on the cake! There was no bitter taste at all. I ground up a few days worth of beans and store it in my pantry. The coffee is fresh every morning this way. I did find that I needed to use just a little more grounds than normal to get the strength I was used to. The coffee does not seem to cause me any problems with my IC. So glad I don't have to give up my coffee!I would recommend this coffee to anyone who has problems with the acid in the coffee.

Disappointed
I just purchased three bags of this coffee, one for me and one for each of my adult children who suffer from acid reflux issues. Tried it yesterday, and texted both my children, as soon as I saw the coffee fill the carafe, warning them about the things that I found. First of all, I don’t think this is a dark roast at all. I can see through it after brewing in the carafe. It’s more of a light blonde roast coffee. I’m just having a cup now, and I can see through the coffee to the bottom of my cup, (pictured above). I’ve been a dark roast drinker all my life. The taste is something that I will definitely have to work at getting used to, I drink my coffee black. It tastes like hummus. In addition, the bag had the organic sticker stuck on top of the label in the bag that says Dark Roast French, although the bottom of the package shows a label that reads 2.5 Organic French WB. I don’t know if the lower acidity is what makes this coffee taste this way, and also have a less dark look. I will not buy this again. I’ll just have to finish it because of having paid $25.00 for each, it I’ll continue to search for another brand that’s truly dark roast.

Good for you...not as good tasting
I love that this coffee appears to live up to it's claims of lower acidity and higher antioxidant quantity than regular coffees. The price is also competitive for organic beans and this is an important upgrade since pesticides can be heavy on coffee beans. The bummer for me is the taste. It's ok, not offensive but it definitely does not resemble any other quality french or dark roast that I've had. It has a shallow flavor reminiscent of dryer medium roast beans. It doesn't have a particularly good aroma as many dark and french roasts do and the beans honestly don't even smell that good. I re read the reviews and the company claims and followed some independent bloggers who also checked up and tested the claims and it all comes out good. The company appears to be sourcing quality beans and processing them in a way that retains antioxidant qualities and lower acidity. I'm still torn on whether to compromise flavor for health and try to get used to the taste. Maybe it's something similar to the swiss water process that they are doing to retain nutrients and lower acid? Maybe using part white coffee beans (younger but not as flavorful). I don't know but for some reason I keep trying to make this work because of the price. :)

My favorite beans!
Overall my favorite beans. I find the flavor rich with just the right balance between a medium and dark roast, with little of the smoky bitterness I find common in these darker roasts. I LOVE the chocolate flavor, but I've ever found and I've been a connoisseur for nearly 20 years trying every flavored variety of good arabica beans available. These rule! It has a rich, genuine dark chocolate note without overpowering the coffee or tasting artificial. Purists (...or Purolasts?? Pun intended...) may mock but if you are a fan of GOOD coffee beans with extra flavor, give these a try. And the 2.5lb bag size costs less than half of what I've paid for inferior beans, flavored or not. I'm definitely a fan. Now, if you really want to go all out, add a few drops of organic vanilla or almond extract... or both! And Enjoy...

Low Acid Doesn't Mean Low Flavor
Since regular coffee tends to aggravate my acid reflux, I was eager to try a low acid coffee, but worried I would have to sacrifice the robust, dark roast flavor that I love. Fortunately, this coffee provides the best of both worlds - and it's organic to boot!
