Great Diaper, No Leaks!

I have used the Fuzzibunz One-Size almost exclusively for several months for my daughter, starting when she weighed about 10 lbs. Before that, I used small-sized pre-folds and covers. I was initially reluctant to purchase these diapers because of the poor reviews they seemed to be receiving, especially regarding many problems with leaking and the need for stripping. So far, I absolutely love my Fuzzibunz. They are much, much better at holding in leaks and breastfeeding poo than disposables - no contest. When I occasionally used disposables, I had to change my daughter's clothes almost every time she went. Not cool. Fuzzibunz, on the other hand, do an awesome job - I have had several leaks, but most seemed to be due to my error. The insert was either bunched up, or the elastic was too loose around her legs. These are also my go-to diaper for the nighttime. I just put in two inserts -- yes, it is a bit bulky, but it IS nighttime -- and so far no leaks even though the diaper feels like it weighs two pounds in the morning from all the liquid! Folks, the microfleece liner works so well my mother-in-law complains that it is hard to tell when she is wet.I also find them very adjustable. My daughter has chunky little legs and I have not had any problems with fitting. However, she does have some red marks from the elastic, but honestly, the legs never feel all that tight to me. She gets those from disposables too.As far as the need for stripping, I have no had any problems there either. I use Charlie's Soap, which works really well, along with a smidgen of Oxi-Clean for smells. I suspect that perhaps those with problems with stripping have HE washers? I do not - I purposely got the lowest-end washer I could when I knew I was going to cloth diaper that has an agitator and allows me to adjust the water level. In my older, super-fancy HE washer, sometimes my clothes would not even get entirely wet the water level was so low. Regardless, I suspect that having ample water to wash and rinse (along with an extra-rinse) perhaps makes the difference.Oh,and yes, Fuzzibunz are super-duper cute. My daughter did get a diaper rash with these, but I used Earth Mama Bottom Balm, which claimed to be compatible with cloth diapers. It not only worked fantastically, it did not seem to affect my diapers at all.If you are thinking about cloth diapering but afraid of the hassle, don't be. With diapers like Fuzzibunz One-Size, it is so much more affordable and easier than disposables. Yes, that's right, EASIER than disposables when you don't have to worry about blow-outs and leaks!

These are AWESOME

I have been cloth diapering my 11 month old since she was born. I started with Thirsties covers with cotton prefolds inside. They worked great, but I felt like they weren't as absorbent as I would have liked. They also didn't stay in place as well when my daughter started to crawl, stand, and walk. I decided to switch to Fuzzi Bunz because another mother I know uses them and couldn't say enough good things about them. I bought a few and was hooked. I will never use another diaper again!Pros:Super soft! (no more rashes of any kind!)Very absorbentGood for overnight wet diapersEasy to use/washAdorable colorsCons:Not so good for newborns or smaller babiesBulkyThey are amazingly soft. My daughter would have a slight rash from time to time with the prefolds. This is completely gone now. She can also go through the whole night (6 hours or more) without a single leak. My previous diapers leaked practically every night to the point where I just expected them to leak and had waterproof pads down on the bed and a change of diaper and clothes nearby for the middle of the night. The only issue with these are if there is ever a "blow out" diaper, it probably wouldn't be very leak-proof, but my daughter is more or less past the liquid poop stage, so I haven't encountered this problem. I would have to say I wouldn't have used these on my daughter when she was a newborn, they are pretty big for a tiny baby. But now, they work like a charm! Love them!!!

Good not great

I've tried a lot of different cloth diaper systems...too many really. I wish I had followed the advice I saw by another CD mom and just waited until the newborn is a few weeks old before trying out CD systems because your baby is unique and everything from their weight, height, chubbiness in legs or waist, boy or girl, how heavy they wet and how fast to what they are eating - it all matters! So unless you are super eco conscious just use those boxes of disposables that you will get from everyone. Because believe me only your bf will buy you a CD and everyone else will buy you Costco quantities of disposables. Anyhow, I bought a boat load of prefolds and as much as they absorb they keep the moisture next to my babies skin so now they are being used as inserts in pockets until I buy more- but the moisture, overall cost, plus the fact that covers end up being a one time use as they do NOT stay clean means I am stuck with either pockets or sewn in AIO like the bumgenius freetimes. Also I tried fleece liners and silk and both didnt help with moisture. So in just comparing the pocket systems that I have- Alva, BumGenius, Charlie Banana and even some ebay Korean ones, these fall short. The quality of the outside PUL is great but the fabric inside is piling and there is no difference between their inserts and the cheap Alva ones. The Alva and BG have a great suede? inside fabric and it pulls a lot of moisture into the insert and away from their skin. Honestly- go save yourself some serious hassel and cash and go directly to alvababy.com and they cost between 4-8 each. Plus the PUL is the cutest hands down. I also detest FB back pocket as it does not have a cover flap nor elastic which helps in leak prevention.Also- the other big problem is that if you have more than one kid in CDs that are different in size or age, you will hate the FB entirely as the size changes by elastic inside the diaper rather than snaps on the front. It simply will not work.So overall they get the job done but there are better systems and cheaper ones out there. Also- the color of this crush berry diaper is inaccurate and much more plum and not hot pink. Disappointing.
