I absolutely adore this clock. I've been wanting to buy a clock with a Westminster chime that would remind me of the clocks in my grandparents' and in-laws' houses, but I was worried that the newer chimes would sound digital and tinny. I don't use the other two chime options, so I can't comment on them, but the Westminster option sounds beautiful. After the melody plays, when the clock strikes the number of hours, that strike tone is not as deep and resonant as old-fashioned clocks, but I don't care because of the loveliness of the Westminster melody. The instructions are badly written but as another reviewer advised, just read them through a few times to get the gist. After I did that, I was able to get it set up in no time, and I had zero problems. The chimes were synchronized correctly from the get-go (1 chime per hour in the Westminster setting) and all settings worked as they should. Absolutely seamless. I like that we can turn off the chimes at night -- an excellent feature -- but be aware that the "silent" time is preset and not adjustable: the chimes go off at 10:45 p.m. and come back on at 6 a.m. And I like that there is a volume control. It's a nice-looking clock, keeps perfect time, and has been a wonderful addition to our home. I just couldn't be happier.

Now this is a nice wall clock. I purchased and returned the cheaper clock from Realtime. The Bulova is real wood. Chimes sound great. Option of hourly, quarter hourly, Ave Maria, Westminister or bim bam. Roman numeral four is the traditional wall clock version. Much larger in size and adjustable volume and night shutoff option. You get what you pay for.

It is a beautiful clock, very easy to set up. Love the chimes. The case is made of wood, but the clock face window and regulator see thru are made of plastic. I feel it is an excellent buy for the price. I replaced a broken 47-year-old clock with this, and the quality and workman ship are almost as good. A couple parts made with cheaper materials, but that's to be expected.

Nice clock, keeps perfect time but even with fresh brand new batteries, this chime has a slight distorted "fuzzy" sound. Other reviewers on here complained about how difficult this clock is to set up and they had to watch videos and so forth to get it set up. The instructions are quite clear and straight forward. Just remember when you replace batteries or remove them for some reason, you will need to re-program the chimes and the quiet hours feature so don't toss the manual. The chimes can be turned off completely or turned down to very low. The highest volume setting is very loud but that's also where we get the worst distortion from the chimes.

I bought this to replace a very similar clock that had been damaged and no longer worked. It was easy to set-up following the provided directions and it fit perfectly in the same location where the older clock hung. I was able to turn the chime sound off as I already had a chiming pendulum clock. It is very attractive and very well made.

This clock was listed as "used-like new" - and I'm impressed! It arrived in perfect, unopened condition. It's bigger than I expected, but I'm not complaining - it's a fantastic value for the money - setting it up was easy and the instructions very clear.It's a sturdy, beautiful, substantial clock that seems to keep accurate time, and the chimes are a very classy touch. I like that the volume is easily adjusted and you can turn off the chimes at night. Make sure you have a nice strong hook to hang it with, and two "C" batteries (for the chimes) and one "AA" battery for the clock and pendulum.Very pleased with this future heirloom!
