Moon Galápagos Islands (Travel Guide) Paperback – November 27, 2018

This book focuses solely on the Islands and goes into minute details that the other Ecuador travel books just don't have room for. Even though this edition is several years old, it has given a wealth of inside information, local sources to tap, and details that will definitely enhance our trip. It also includes candid information on the two "gateway" cities (Quito & Guyaquil) to help you decide if / which you want to include for an extended shoulder visit (hint: it won't be Guyaquil....!). Worth the $$.

Just returned from the Galapagos and used this book as a guide throughout the trip. Got to the best beaches and snorkeling ever! If you are going to make this trip, buy this book and read it ahead of time so you don’t miss a thing!

I loved the fact this book focuses on Galapagos Islands instead of just being a "section" of the Ecuador book. Loved the maps. Really loved the wildlife section. With that it is a complete book!!! It has sections on Quito and another gateway city. I was pleasantly surprised some of my lodging selections appears as great choices. I liked some hints like where to dine to avoid pesky mosquitos. I think the book will be helpful for the trip. Can't wait to get back to reading it.

This Travel Guide is a valuable resource that is fun to read. It is well-organized and the photos are breath-taking.I enjoyed the cultural and historical information in addition to useful travel advice. The book assists one to select a budget and the type of tour. It describes multiple options for planning a memorable trip. I recommend this book to anyone with an interest in the Galápagos Islands.

I checked out two other library books on the Galapagos but this was by far the best. Unfortunately I did not have the opportunity to use it much since our Galapagos trip was cancelled in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. But hopefully I will be able to use it in the future.

My husband is from Ecuador and we have a trip planned to Galápagos, we’ve never been. I was looking for something with information on the go to spots, without feeling like I was looking at a directory. This book is perfect. Looking forward to our trip.

This book really has an effective amount of critical information to plan a trip. While I did not find the reading engaging, it was the content one needs to understand the nature of today's visit to the Galapagos Islands. It was well illustrated (maps very helpful) and photos excellent.

I was really hoping for some detailed descriptions about the islands in the Galapagos—wildlife, tours, getting around. This didn’t provide any information other than what I could find online myself with a quick search. I usually prefer a book to online material so I have all of the information in one place, but because the information in this book is so cursory, it’s not really very useful either for planning or for taking with me.
