Proper sizing = a perfect, supportive fit. Extra velcro patch & "wavy strip" = stays in place
These braces have been ideal for me. I used ACE brand neoprene braces for many years, and have tried around 4 other brands. As context, I severely dislocated one knee decades ago, and after six weeks on crutches and about a half year of recovery, I could backpack in the mountains again -- but it took about two years to recover full strength. That said, I almost always use braces when doing hard hikes or carrying a heavy-ish backpack. I wear them on both knees. My right knee was probably affected over the years through compensating for my left knee. I also wear braces for long runs, but not for daily use anymore. These Physix braces fit me better than any other I've tried.... perhaps because they are offered in various sizes. I measured my knees/legs carefully before choosing my size. For me, the single mesh stay on each side of the patella give sufficient support, but still allows great flexibility. Also, I love the additional velcro patch midway on the upper and lower bands. They keep the straps in place perfectly, unlike any other adjustable knee brace I've tried or used. The soft rubber "wavy strip" across the bottom of the brace helps keep the brace in place, even after many hours of wear. For ultralight hikers, one brace in size Large weighs 4.74oz., or 134.5 grams. BTW, I completely transformed my knee function and drastically reduced the pain from multi-day hikes, from doing the few simple exercises in the book, "Bulletproof Your Knee" by Jim Johnson -- which I also purchased on Amazon. Finally, I discovered that some experimentation with different knee braces was crucial for me to find one that fit my needs ideally.

Works great at a reasonable price!
I am on the small side and while I did order the small I was worried it would still be too big. I was wrong because this adjustable brace was perfect. I guess I'm surprised when I actually get something that's well made and works as claimed. The stitching is good and the velcro, while really strong, can be peeled back easily if you do it slowly vs ripping it off. Overall a great product and worth the money!

Great Brace
I have an arthritic knee. This brace is the best support I have found, and I've tried several other brands. It is sturdy, the Velcro straps are solidly constructed, the material is strong. It is very comfortable. I use it walking and mowing the lawn --- there is no sweating or excessive heating underneath the brace. The width is just right, covering just above and below the knee, so it is not cumbersome. I used to wear braces and then take them off during the day, because they were irritating. This does not irritate. The support it provides is very good -- I have a noticeable limp without using a brace, and with this brace there is no limp or pain. The price you can't beat!

The best I've found
After an injury, I've tried a wide variety of knee braces, sleeves and straps, including several recommended by orthopedic medical practitioners and physical therapists. All the others have been disappointing in some way, and It seems that I'm particularly difficult to fit. The Physix brace is the first one that offers a size that is large enough, but not too large, and adjustable enough to accommodate my rather short, stout legs. I have been able to stand and walk, including climbing a lot of stairs, while trying to recover without further injury. The Physix braces stay in place very well, without having to be pulled too tight. Nothing is perfect, but this brace has provided me with considerable relief and protection during a long and difficult process. The only downside I've seen is a slight tendency for the stitching to fray. It's not severe so far, and if they do give out before I stop needing them, I'll probably reorder. Recommended for those who need them.
